‘Basketball Wives LA’ Season 5: Malaysia Pargo Reveals Premiere Date And Poster

Season 5 of Basketball Wives LA is coming to VH1. Malaysia Pargo tweeted a picture of the poster for the upcoming season and confirmed the premiere date for the return of the reality series.

It looks like a few familiar faces will be returning alongside Malaysia. Also featured on the poster were Jackie Christie, Shaunie O’Neal, Tami Roman, and Brandi Maxiell. Everyone on the poster is expected to be in Season 5 of Basketball Wives LA, with the addition of Angel Brinks. Fashion & Style reported that Mehgan James is not returning this season. That is probably because James has been announced as part of the Love & Hip Hop Houston cast that will debut later in the year.

The upcoming Season 5 of BBWLA should prove to be interesting. This is the first time in the history of the show that Draya Michele was not one of the main cast members. There have also been rumors that the upcoming season has a lot of drama in it, especially between Shaunie O’Neal and Brandi Maxiell. The fighting between the show’s executive producer and Brandi got so bad that Shaunie fired her. However, Brandi has said that is not the case and that she hasn’t gone anywhere.

“I respect Shaunie and her movement and everything she did to help create and be a part of ‘Basketball Wives.’ I respect where she comes from,” Brandi Maxiell told Radar Online earlier in the month. “But I’m a Southern belle. We aren’t too shy of how we feel and what we think. You either love us or you hate us. We are big bright sunshine. So full of life. If you piss us off, we’re a whole other different person.”

“There were still bad feelings. It was really intense and difficult. I had a headache for about a month filming.”

There have been a few life changes for the Basketball Wives LA stars since last season. The Inquisitr recently reported that Malaysia Pargo has finalized her divorce from basketball husband Jannero Pargo. The two were separated since 2014, and Malaysia spoke about their split on the VH1 reality show.

It’s unknown if Malaysia will be talking about her divorce or the hefty settlement she won during Season 5 of BBWLA. For those who may have missed it, Malaysia took Jannero to the cleaners when it came to their divorce. She ended up with half of his NBA pension and 401k, plus she will get more than $15,000 a month in child support and childcare costs from her former husband.

Brandi Maxiell also announced that she had separated from her basketball husband. In the same Radar interview, Brandi said that she was not dating anyone new since the split. When asked what her perfect man was like, Maxiell responded that her husband was her perfect man, except that she preferred a “more faithful version.”

While Draya Michele has made it clear that she won’t be returning to Basketball Wives LA ever again, it looks like her feud with Malaysia Pargo is still going strong. Earlier in June, when Malaysia was asked about Draya, she wouldn’t even say her former friend’s name. So it looks like there won’t be any happy reunions for Malaysia and Draya, not even to congratulate her on the birth of her new baby boy with Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick.

Season 5 of Basketball Wives LA is set to premiere on Sunday, July 17 on VH1. Be sure to tune in to find out who is in, who is out, and which of these women will be responsible for the most drama as another season rolls out.
