Selma Blair Thanks Fans For Forgiveness Following Her Recent Outburst On A Plane
Selma Blair has just celebrated her 44th birthday and is feeling gratitude towards her loved ones and her fans following their continued support after an unfortunate and frightening incident earlier this week. The Cruel Intentions star celebrated with her 4-year-old son Arthur and took time to share her gratefulness with fans for their “spirit of loving and forgiveness,” via Instagram, for an episode which resulted in Blair being removed from a plane.
The star apologized soon after the event that saw her carried off on a stretcher after admittedly mixing prescription drugs and alcohol on the plane before it landed. Blair posted an image to Instagram of her son kissing her cheek and captioned it with a heartwarming message, as Entertainment Tonight shares.
The incident that led to the message of appreciation for fans’ forgiveness occurred following a trip to Mexico for Blair, her son, and her ex, Jason Bleick. The trio enjoyed a wonderful getaway for Father’s Day, yet it turned sour on the plane ride home when, as noted, Selma mixed alcohol with prescription pills that led to an outburst. Prior to the plane incident, the star appeared to be getting close with her ex and was having a great time with her son at the Hard Rock resort.
“I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his Dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret. I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath,” she continued. “I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry.”
As the Los Angeles Times reminds, officials were notified of an “ill passenger arriving on a flight from Cancun Mexico.” The aircraft was then met by CBP officers and Blair was turned over to the L.A. Fire Department for transport to a local hospital. Additional information was not released due to privacy laws. However, sources who spoke with TMZ claimed that Selma, who was traveling first class and drinking wine, reportedly started crying and stating, “He burns my private parts. He won’t let me eat or drink. He beats me. He’s going to kill me.”
Clearly this frightened many passengers on board the plane and made a number uncomfortable. The type of prescription drug the star had taken along with her wine remains unknown. It is clear that Selma is apologetic for the mistake she made in mixing the drugs with alcohol and the event will likely soon be forgotten.
