Katherine Heigl Says Pregnancy Will Not Impact New TV Series She’s To Star In, Family Thrilled With News

Katherine Heigl has made the announcement recently that she is pregnant with a baby boy, and this has raised questions about how this will affect her lead spot on the CBS series, Doubt.

Heigl, known for her previous role on Grey’s Anatomy, is expecting her third child with husband Josh Kelley. The couple are parents to Adalaide Marie Hope, 4, and Naleigh Moon, 7.

Entertainment Weekly shares the premise of the show that is set to air mid-season.

“In Doubt, Heigl plays a brilliant and successful lawyer who starts to fall for her client, played by The Good Wife‘s Steven Pasquale, who may or may not be guilty of murdering a teenage girl many years ago. The legal drama also stars Laverne Cox, Dul? Hill, Dreama Walker, Elliot Gould, and Kobi Libii. Since the show is slated for midseason, a premiere date has yet to be announced.”

Although the pregnancy was certainly unexpected, Katherine cannot help but be thrilled that she and her husband of 8 years will be soon welcoming a baby boy. The blonde beauty took to her blog to share about what the pregnancy means to her family and their direction. People shares the star’s words.

“It was totally unexpected but thrilling. The whole pregnancy thing is new to me but the thrill of having a baby is not.”

The actress then shared a photo that included two tiny blue boots and a caption stating “Blue is for … BOY!!!”

Older sisters to the new little one, Adalaide Marie Hope and Naleigh Moon, are just as thrilled by the news. Both girls, who were adopted by the couple, Naleigh Moon in 2009, and Adalaide Marie Hope in 2012, reportedly can’t wait to spoil their baby brother when he arrives. Katherine shared about her daughters’ excitement.

“Naleigh and Adalaide are over the moon and [cannot] wait to spoil their new sibling rotten.”

As for she and her singer-songwriter husband, Heigl adds that they are “full of high hopes and bubbling anticipation.” The couple, although surprised by the pregnancy, were definitely wanting to expand their family. The star shared that she did not believe that pregnancy was even a possibility but was certainly over the moon when they found out it was.

“We were considering adoption again, fostering, or pregnancy if possible. Seeing as I have never been pregnant and as my OB/GYN reminded me last year, I’m of advanced maternal age, I wasn’t sure pregnancy was even in the cards for us. Turns out it was very much in the cards!”

Heigl made it known how grateful she is for the support she has received from so many in her life and relays that she is excited to share about her pregnancy journey as she goes through the stages. The actress also made it known that she’s begun searching blogs and reading books, as well as exploring different apps, to assist with this new experience she has begun.

“I’ve learned so much already, and know there’s even more to learn as this baby grows. This is truly an amazingly blessed time, waiting for the child you’ve been dreaming of to make their appearance. Though I’ve never been a particularly patient person, my experience of waiting for Naleigh taught me a lot in that department. So I will wait and eagerly anticipate, hopefully with grace, gratitude and a good attitude (ummm pregnancy hormones are real people).”

As it turns out, Heigl has been known for having a bit of a bad attitude while on set for various roles she has taken on. The star has apparently turned a corner and even apologized for the manner in which she exited Grey’s Anatomy years back.
