Kim Kardashian Rants Kanye-Style About Gun Control, Other Stars Weigh In

After the Senate rejected proposed amendments for gun control in the United States on Tuesday, Kim Kardashian took to social media to rant about the rejection and the very serious issue to her millions of followers.

The four measures proposed were largely related to requirements of background checks before the purchase of firearms. Following the news Monday that the 60-point threshold wasn’t reached, many celebrities responded negatively to the news via their social media accounts. Kardashian weighed in on the issue early Tuesday morning.

Gossip Cop shares the reality star’s words on the issue of the rejected amendments.

“So sad! The senate voted against background checks being needed to buy guns. So terrorists on fbi’s wanted lists can legally still buy guns. Oh & mentally ill people can buy guns without a background check too. The fact that anyone can so easily access guns is so scary & after all of the devastating loss the Senate should have not failed us!!!”

Kim also continued to retweet related messages detailing which senators voted which way, either for or against the amendments. Earlier this month, following the terrible massacre at a gay night club in Orlando, Kardashian was sure to speak her piece about the unthinkable shootings and tragedy. She added that the act of terrorism was due to the “terror gap.”

“Under current federal law people on terror watch lists can legally buy guns – this is called the Terror Gap.”

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is clearly emphatic about strict sanctions being put in place in order to protect individuals from such brutal crimes similar to what took place at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub.

“We have repeatedly called on Congress to close this loophole that makes it easy for dangerous people to get guns & kill,” the star told fans. “Nothing has changed!!!! People continue to senselessly die. When will these gun laws be changed?!?!?!?!!!!?????”

This issue is not a new subject that Kardashian has advocated for. The mother of two tweeted about the subject twice last summer as well.

As previously noted, a number of celebrities made their disapproval and disappointment with Congress known via social media following the decision that was made Monday.

GC relays the words of singer and father John Legend.

“The foolishness and heartlessness coming from our Congress re: gun control is not surprising, but still so very disappointing and shameful. You don’t get to talk ‘tough on terror’ if you’re too afraid of the NRA to do anything about guns. You’re a coward. We have to vote the GOP out of leadership of both House & Senate to get anything done on guns. Please vote in November.”

Alyssa Milano also shared her dissatisfaction with a feistier and brief reply that simply showed that she too is fed up with the ongoing refusal to do anything about gun control, especially after seeing the tragedy that occurred due to lenient gun laws in the nation.

Sarah Silverman also took to Twitter to retweet a number of messages while also speaking out in utter disgust at the decision by Congress.

“If u voted against this its bc ur a greedy selfish NRA suckling f*ck. How am I the godless one? Get a moral compass.”

Billy Eichner wrote powerfully that if people are not disappointed by the result of the vote, then they clearly are not human. “Outraged” Eichner then described the decision as “insanity.”

Many more celebrities weighed in, much like Kim Kardashian, and it’s evident many of them feel that changes need to happen to keep senseless violent acts from taking any more innocent lives due to lenient gun laws.
