The Real Reason Rihanna Broke Down In Tears During Dublin Concert [Video]

Rihanna was visibly emotional during a stop on her ANTI Wold Tour stop in Dublin, Ireland.

Videos captured by fans at the show showed tears rolling down Rihanna’s face as she performed “Love The Way You Lie” in the Irish city on June 21, which got fans questioning just why Rihanna was so emotional during her latest tour stop.

Rihanna is yet to speak out on exactly what caused her to start crying during the show, though a number of sites have speculated on exactly why Rihanna couldn’t seem to stop crying as she sang.

According to Perez Hilton, Rihanna’s emotional moment came amid the passionate response to the song by Rihanna’s Irish fans, who loudly sang along with the popstar as she performed her 2010 single with Eminem.

The site speculated that it was because “the Ireland crowd loudly sang the lyrics of the Eminem collaboration” that caused Rihanna to dissolve into floods of tears as a direct result of the touching moment.

However, other sites are reporting that there could be something more to Rihanna’s emotional crying outburst, as The Sun is claiming that Rihanna was actually 30 minutes late to the Dublin show and then opted not to do an encore.

The site also claimed that Rihanna’s Dublin concert wasn’t exactly a sell-out, alleging that the venue, which has a maximum capacity of 50,000, had many empty seats.

Rihanna’s fans, amid the crying speculation, took to social media to comment on exactly what triggered Rihanna’s emotional on stage moment, with some agreeing with Perez Hilton‘s claims that her love for the crowd was what made her so teary.

“Rihanna crying during her show in Dublin is all about her being so committed to what she is doing. She is putting 100% soul to each show,” @anileyupoglu_ tweeted out, while @PraiseRihsus wrote, “And again [Rihanna] had to pause because she was overwhelmed and crying for us. This is why I go hard for her.”

But while some Rihanna fans believed the singer’s tears were happy, others seemed concerned of the star’s wellbeing.

Twitter account @TheShadyFacts tweeted, “This video of Rihanna crying while performing “Love The Way You Lie” is so touching. We hope she’s ok!” and @illestbaba added, “Our sis is crying on stage. Those better be happy tears because we all know it’s ‘protect Rihanna at all costs.'”

Fan’s concerns over Rihanna’s crying comes just months after TMZ claimed that Rihanna supposedly had a meltdown while rehearsing for the 2016 Grammy Awards in February, before later cancelling her performance entirely.

According to the site, Rihanna “was loudly expressing displeasure over her rehearsal” and was allegedly “loud and upset” during rehearsals. A source even told the TMZ that Rihanna was “too upset to stay and watch the show.”

Rihanna later clarified her decision to cancel her Grammy performance, telling fans through a statement that she was unable to perform due to a medical condition that was affecting her vocals.

“Based on Rihanna’s examination, after Grammy rehearsal today, Rihanna’s doctor put her on vocal rest for 48-hours because she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords,” a statement from the popstar’s representative read.

Rihanna then apologized to fans for being a no-show at the Grammys on social media, tweeting out, “#NAVY so sorry I couldn’t be there….. Thanks Grammys and CBS for your support tonight.”

As for what caused her latest on-stage tearful breakdown, Rihanna has yet to comment on exactly why she started crying during the Dublin performance on June 21, though the popstar did take to Twitter thank a fan for attending the concert after leaving the stage.

“Thanks for coming!!” Rihanna tweeted a fan with the username Rihanna Updates. “Hope you had a blast.”
