‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6: Did Anyone Notice That Spoiler In Episode 9 Regarding Sansa Stark?

Episode 9 of the sixth season of Game of Thrones was all about the massive battle between rival bastards, Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton. However, HBO may have just confirmed a long held suspicion concerning Sansa Stark and Ramsay.

SPOILER ALERT: This article contains information on Season 6 and, in particular, Episode 9 of HBO’s Game of Thrones. Please proceed with caution if you wish to avoid spoilers.

For many fans of Game of Thrones, Episode 9 (entitled “Battle of the Bastard”) was deliciously gratuitous. Not only was there an epic battle directed by Miguel Sapochnik, the man responsible for the other amazing battle on Game of Thrones in Season 5 entitled “Hardhome,” but the character everyone loved to hate so much since King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) died also got a death worthy of his horrible existence. Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), the man who killed his own family rather than have an heir more apparent than him, got a dose of his own medicine at the hands of his wife, Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner). After Ramsay was defeated against the odds by Sansa and Jon Snow’s army, Sansa set his own dogs onto him. The ones he hadn’t fed for seven days. As was to be expected, seven days without food was just too long for them to stay faithful to their master when he was sitting there, bleeding, in front of them.

But, it is their brief conversation before Sansa sets the hounds on him, that just may have confirmed a long held belief that Sansa is pregnant by Ramsay. The exchange goes as follows.

“‘Hello Sansa,’ says Ramsay. ‘Is this where I’ll be staying now?’ [pauses] ‘Our time together is about to come to an end, that’s all. You can’t kill me, I’m part of you now.’

“‘Your words will disappear,’ Sansa replies. ‘Your house will disappear. Your name will disappear. All memory of you will disappear.'”

While the conversation is brief and takes place directly after Ramsay’s hounds enter to devour him, it is very telling indeed. If Sansa is pregnant with Ramsay’s child, it seems he also knows it, as he points out he is now a “part of you.” It appears, however, that Sansa is not about to announce to Westeros she is pregnant by Ramsay. Instead, she seems intent on wiping his name from the face of the kingdom. Does this mean she will also get rid of Ramsay’s child? Perhaps. Only time will tell though.

While this seems like confirmation Sansa is pregnant by Ramsay, it is not the first time the concept has been addressed in Game of Thrones. As early as the very first promotional stills for Season 6, the pregnancy rumors began when the following image of Sansa appeared to show a baby bump.

It is possible that it could just be Sansa’s hand underneath her tunic, but fans and media sites such as The Independant have been speculating the possibilities.

Then, in Episode 5 of Season 6 of Game of Thrones, when Sansa questions Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) about how much he knows of Ramsay’s sadistic streak, she utters the line, “I can still feel what he did in my body, standing here right now.” While this could very well be a throwaway line about just how vividly she remembers Ramsay’s brutality, it could also signify the movement of a baby in her belly. And, if this is the case, has she subtly let Petyr know she has been made pregnant by Ramsay? Now, in hindsight, it is a sentence that adds weight to the theory Sansa is pregnant by Ramsay Bolton.
