Rita Ora Signs Atlantic Record Deal Amid Justin Bieber Collaboration, Dating Rumors — The Truth Revealed

Rita Ora is said to have signed a multi-million dollar record deal with Atlantic, after spending the last seven months battling it out in court with Jay Z in the hopes that the rapper would gracefully respect her wishes to leave his label.

Back in December, Rita infamously sued Jay Z and his record label, Roc Nation, claiming that the British-born singer was never a priority to the label’s execs. Instead of helping her push out her sophomore album, she was faced with constant delays and was promised things that never ended up happening.

By the end of last year, Rita’s only chance to get out of her contract with Roc Nation was to sue the company and her former mentor in the hope that they might see she means business. After attempting to put out an album for the last 3 years, Rita gave the impression the label prevented her from doing so because their priorities were elsewhere — with former label partner Rihanna, perhaps?

Whatever the case may be, Rita took to her Instagram earlier today, sharing a photo with the caption, “I’m so thankful to my new Atlantic Records family and First Access management for all their support and encouragement! The next chapter is going to be incredible!”

The deal has been in the works for a couple of weeks, sources have alleged. The 25-year-old has been very vocal about her desire to find a label that really understands her as an artist; and more so, a label that would actually support her music in the hopes that she will eventually manage to land a hit record of her own in America without being the featured artist.

Rita has been trying to establish herself as an artist in the states for several years, but with the alleged fact that Roc Nation hasn’t been giving her the support she needs, Ora has decided to move on and sign with a label that has promised her all of those things and more.

Whether they’ll be able to deliver is the next question. But, from what is being said, Rita is already working on her new album, having told fans on Instagram that she has been in the studio for the last couple of weeks. Everything is still in the early stages, but Rita hopes to deliver a strong body of work — one that will see her get some recognition other than in the United Kingdom, where she already holds five number one singles to her name.

Following the celebration of having signed a new record deal, Rita Ora said the following in a statement, “Music is my first love and I am looking forward to getting my new songs released. I’m thankful to my new Atlantic Records family for all their support and encouragement. The next chapter is going to be incredible.”

Earlier this month, before Rita’s record deal had been confirmed with Atlantic, it was alleged that Ora invited Justin Bieber over for a studio session. The twosome allegedly went on to record several songs together; but, it’s unclear on whether any of them will be used for Ora’s forthcoming record.

With the news of their collaborative effort in the studio, the duo was also seen enjoying each other’s company when they headed out for dinner in Los Angeles two weeks ago. Signs have definitely been pointing at a potential romance between the duo; yet, neither of them has responded to the rumors.

Rita Ora’s sophomore record is expected to drop in early 2017, with the label hoping to push out the singer’s first single sometime this year. If she is to release the supposed Bieber-featured song as her debut single, Rita Ora could most definitely be looking at her first big hit in America — which is exactly what she has wanted ever since signing her deal with Roc Nation.
