Oprah On Her New TV Show, Cook Book, Hillary Clinton, Logging 10,000 Steps A Day, And Tequila Shots


Oprah Winfrey, the multifaceted celebrity, has been active for over three decades. The talk show queen and Academy-award nominated actress is also a magazine publisher, entrepreneur, and founder of the OWN television network. According to ABC News, Oprah is looking forward to the telecasting of her upcoming drama series named Greenleaf, which will be aired on OWN television.

The series revolves around a Memphis-based scandalous family that runs a megachurch. Oprah plays the character named Mavis in Greenleaf. Apart from promoting her upcoming series, Oprah Winfrey is also busy with other engagements. Oprah has bought a 10 percent stake in Weight Watchers and is also an enthusiastic participant in the wellness program that claims to keep its patrons fit and trim.

In fact, Oprah is logging 10,000 steps a day to prove that she practices what she preaches. Oprah revealed that her ultimate goal is to remain active. People reported that Oprah spoke about how the program is enabling her to enjoy her life to the fullest.

“I just know that movement and flexibility, particularly the older you get, is what makes you feel alive. So I don’t want to just be alive, I want to feel it.”

Oprah has claimed to have reduced her weight by 26 lbs after following the program for 5 months. Oprah is so involved and dedicated to the Weight Watchers program that she is planning to launch a recipe book that will feature her delicious recipes. According to STL Today, the cookbook titled Food, Health and Happiness is set to hit stores in January, 2017. Oprah has come up with unique recipes in consultation with wonderful chefs with whom she worked with as part of her weight loss program.

And Oprah’s diet plan and fitness regime haven’t stopped her from enjoying delicious treats. Recently, Oprah threw an evening party at her residence and arranged for a variety of delicacies to celebrate the premiere of the Greenleaf series. Oprah made sure that the guests feasted on high-calorie Southern delicacies that included barbecue chicken, fried chicken, corn on the cob, blackened catfish, and mini apple pies. And at the top of it all, Oprah made sure that the guests enjoyed the evening to their fullest by having tequila shots. According to People, Oprah joked that having a tequila shot is the perfect way to celebrate anything.

And apart from inspiring everyone else, Oprah Winfrey herself draws inspiration from several people. According to ET Online, Oprah is thrilled about the prospect of having Hillary Clinton as the next U.S. President, especially since Hillary is set to become the first female President.

Apart from politics, Clinton’s victory will be a groundbreaking moment for women who will be inspired to break the shackles and fly higher to achieve their aspirations.

And quite apart from admiring Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey is full of praise for James Corden, the host of The Late Late Show who took pains to host this year’s Tony awards. Oprah Winfrey feels that James Corden’s originality and high level of enthusiasm are ever-inspiring. Oprah Winfrey is particularly fond of the Carpool Karaoke segment on the show that features legendary talented celebrities like Adele, Stevie Wonder, George Clooney, and Julia Roberts. However, she revealed that her favorite episode was the one that featured Broadway stars singing karaoke along with James Corden.

Oprah’s high level of involvement in various facets of showbiz goes on to indicate her zest for life. Overall, Oprah Winfrey is happy and contented with her life, and doesn’t seem to be regretting her decision to leave her daily talk show program.
