‘The Originals’ Season 4: Will Rebekah And Davina Return? Claire Holt And Danielle Campbell Say… [Spoilers]
The Originals Season 4 will be nerve-wracking for viewers. With so many characters futures unknown, could Rebekah and Davina return? Claire Holt and Danielle Campbell recently discussed the possibility.

During the Season 3 finale of The Originals, Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) was put in an agony-induced coma and entombed, while the rest of the Mikaelson siblings were transported to a dreamscape where they sit and wait. One of those is Rebekah Mikaelson, played by Claire Holt. Besides the Mikaelson family, another character’s future on the show is uncertain.
Davina (Danielle Campbell) was killed, but with a supernatural series, that doesn’t always mean the end. Holt and Campbell spoke about the possibility of Rebekah and Davina returning in Season 4 of The Originals.
Holt is currently in NBC’s Aquarius. During the Season 2 premiere, the actress spoke to Access Hollywood about whether Rebekah Mikaelson could return to The CW supernatural series. When asked if she would be appearing more in The Originals, Claire said that she hopes to. In the interview, Holt said that things were left open-ended at the end of the Season 3 finale. While she wants Aquarius to have another season, she would also love to return to The Originals, too.
When asked directly if Claire Holt had spoken to the producers of The Originals, the actress laughed at how forward he was. She admitted that she had talked to the producers. However, this doesn’t mean that she will return, just that they have spoken about it. The actress did tease that Rebekah returns to The Originals every season.
The actress also confessed that she is attached to the cast and crew of The Originals, as well as the character of Rebekah Mikaelson. Holt said that it is really hard to walk away from that.
As for Davina on The Originals, she died in Season 3. However, fans are still hoping Danielle Campbell returns to reprise her role. As previously reported, the actress could not say for certain whether Davina would come back or not.
“It’s hard to say for sure. A lot of it depends on story arcs and availability down the line, but I think it’s going to be up in the air,” Danielle Campbell told TV Line. “[The producers and writers are] still going to be figuring out the next storylines once they return for the next season, so it hinges on what’ll happen a few months from now. But never say never!”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, The Originals Season 4 will focus more on the Mikaelson siblings and trying to find out who they are and who they want to be. Stuck in the dreamscape, will they escape? Can Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) find a cure, and if so, is baby Hope part of that? How will Marcel react when he discovers the Mikaelsons are still alive? There are not many answers, but executive producer Michael Narducci made one thing clear: Marcel is not and will never be a villain on The Originals.

The Originals Season 4 was not put on the fall 2016 schedule by The CW. As a result, expect new episodes to begin airing sometime next year. Even though some fans of The Vampire Diaries spin-off are upset by this news, the network president has defended the decision to temporarily bench The Originals, The 100, and a few other popular TV shows.
