Honey Boo Boo Proclaims ‘We’re Fat!’: Mom Says Haters Only Make Them Stronger

Seven-year-old Toddlers & Tiaras beauty queen Alana Thompson had herself a little pig-out at a family barbecue on Wednesday’s episode of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. “My family just loves to eat!” Honey Boo Boo proclaims amid the family’s BBQ order. “We’re fat!”

“We’re pleasingly plump!” answered her pop, Sugar Bear.

“Sugar Bear wanted us to go to a sit-down dinner at a restaurant, so we went out to a barbecue house. Sugar likes to go out as a family,” Mama explains as the family makes the trek to the Paradise Country Barbecue in their home stage of Georgia. “I’m sure it means a lot to him, but I don’t know. He’s one of them emotionless men, I guess.”

Honey Boo Boo’s mom, June, isn’t fazed by the criticism her family receives for their televised antics either. “For every person that’s hating on us, there’s three people that love us,” she told TMZ.

Though some critics have decried Here Comes Honey Boo Boo as redneck trash, June says she’s unbothered because “a lot of people relate to us.” In fact, the haters only make them stronger. “It’s weird that haters know more about our show than our amazing fans.”

Prior reports have alleged that the Thompson family isn’t very well-compensated for their participation on the show, but June seems completely fine with the family’s paycheck as well. Reports say that June herself earns $4,000 for each episode, and, while she wouldn’t specify the exact amount, she said “We’re very well compensated.”
