Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman and Kerry Washington To Speak At DNC [Rumor]
How can you top Clint Eastwood? The Democratic Party will be bringing plenty of star power to the DNC with scheduled speeches by Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman and Kerry Washington.
CNN reports that the three beautiful actresses will speak together on Thursday night before President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden take the stage. Scarjo, Portman, and Washington are scheduled to follow a performance by the Foo Fighters on Thursday night. (You can watch the Democratic National Convention here.)
Officials at the RNC kept their mystery guest, Clint Eastwood, a secret until a few hours before the event. Betty White has been rumored as a special speaker at the DNC but it looks like the Democrats are going in a different direction. The Democratic Party is hoping to secure young women voters and Johansson, 27, Portman, 31 and Washington, 35, definitely appeal to that demographic.
But as of right now, the appearence of Johansson, Portman, and Washington is just a rumor. CNN obtained a schedule of speakers for Thursday night and reports that all three actresses will be appearing at the DNC. Officials at the convention have not confirmed the news. Representatives for the stars have also been tight-lipped.
The Ticket reports that Washington’s rep only said that the star was filming in Los Angeles. The Daily Beast’s Marlow Stern reportedly contacted Portman’s rep who said that the actress would not be in attendance. Johansson’s rep has not commented yet.
Do you think Portman, Johannson, and Washington would make a good speech at the Democratic National Convention? Do you think they’d do a better job than Clint Eastwood?
