Minnesota Casino Sets Record For World’s Biggest Hamburger [Video]

Carlton, MN – The Black Bear Casino set a Guinness record when making the world’s largest hamburger during Labor Day weekend. The Minnesota gambling establishment created 2,014-pound and 10-foot in diameter juicy bacon cheeseburger. The previous meat patty award winner weighed in at 881 pounds, according to the New York Daily News.

Dice tossers and card sharks stood in complete awe of the biggest burger ever made. The beef patty was so huge a crane had to be used to flip it while it cooked. Since a grill to hold such a gigantic sandwich does not exist, the dedicated Minnesota cooks devised their own.

An outdoor oven built just large enough to hold the meat took four hours to build. Fifteen foot long steel skillets were also crafted to accomplish the extreme grilling goal. Making the enormous bun was not an easy task either; it took four hours for the dough to bake after rising.

Guinness Book of World Records representative Phillip Robertson had this to say about the massive cheeseburger during an interview with the Duluth News Tribune:

“What I saw today was a feat of remarkable teamwork that resulted in a world record burger that actually tastes really good.”

The Black Bear Casino chefs and ceremony attendees definitely had a burger made their way. The monstrous piece of beef was topped with 50 pounds of sliced onions, 60 pounds of bacon, 40 pounds of cheese, and 50 pounds of lettuce.

The behemoth cheeseburger was sliced and diced into manageable portions and served to guests without charge. There is no information available about the amount of fat and carbs in the humongous hamburger.
