Tori Spelling: Weight Battles, Baby Rumors, And Bad Movie Reviews

Tori Spelling’s weight fluctuation has made headlines once again. The daughter of Candy Spelling and Hollywood producer Aaron Spelling been in the news for decades in regards to her health and body weight. In between emergency room visits, the 90210 star has been bashed for being “too skinny” and called “gaunt” by some. News outlets are now reporting Tori has packed on major pounds, and is in the midst of a medical crisis.

Radar Online published an article titled “Tori Spelling’s Extreme Weight Gain Revealed.” The headline questions Tori’s health. “Is Tori Ok? Spelling Gains 35 Pounds Amid Medical Crisis, Experts Say.” On Twitter, many fans voiced their dissatisfaction with the most recent headlines.

The Daily Mail reported Tori was given specific instructions on how she lost weight after giving birth.

“My publicist had given me clear instructions about what to say about my weight loss…’Women didn’t want to know that I had lost weight through dieting, not exercising… So I said that I swam [even though] I can’t do much more than a doggy paddle.”

Is the idea of Tori being in midst of a medical crisis due to weight gain a little far fetched? At a VIP screening, Tori Spelling told New York Daily News her haters are her inspiration. Tori thanked her haters, saying they motivate her to reinvent herself.

“It’s a hard thing in Hollywood, they love to build you up to knock you down…I wouldn’t be driven to reinvent myself over and over again, so I thank everyone that knocks me down!”

Tori Spelling Shuts Down Pregnancy Rumors

Tori and Dean McDermott share four children: Liam, 9; Stella, 8; Hattie, 4; and Finn, 3. Spelling does not accredit her new body weight to pregnancy. Tori has been focusing on rebuilding her marriage. Tori talked to The Insider With Yahoo about her new Lifetime movie, Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? And shut down rumors and gossip of baby number five with husband, Dean McDermott.

“No, I am not pregnant,” she sighed. “[The tabloids] recycle that story, every couple months.”

Tori told The Insider With Yahoo that Dean popped the question (again) in a tiny restaurant that overlooked the Eiffel Tower. Originally, Dean wanted to propose at the landmark.

“We were actually in Paris and we were with the whole family and my four kids were there and my husband actually re-proposed to me…We had tried to go to the Eiffel Tower several times…But every time we went there the lines were so long that he was like, ‘Oh my gosh. This is not going to work.’ So he found out about a restaurant that you can have a perfect view of it so we went there and he did it.”

Dean tells Access Hollywood he falls in love with Tori a little more everyday. “I look at her and I’m like wow, I can’t believe she’s my wife. She’s so gorgeous and beautiful.”

Reviews On Tori Spelling’s Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?

Tori Spelling has been Lifetime royalty for decades. Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?, the cult classic that starred Spelling 20 years ago, was rebooted and premiered on Saturday. Variety reports Tori Spelling was awkward as the mother of George, as they seemed more like strangers than mother and daughter.

“That works at first, but the narrative is so slack — and the budget so painfully low — that the minimal intrigue becomes impossible to sustain. All aspirations to trash-art aside, it’s ultimately repetitive and dull — padded with even more overhead shots of L.A. roadways than ‘True Detective’ season two.”

Tori said it was an adjustment not be the lead and to step back into the “mature” role, Fox News reported.

“It’s funny. I had moments on the set where I was like, ‘Oh, I’m not the lead ingenue anymore like I used to be in these types of TV movies.’ It’s interesting to kind of step back and say, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m the mother.’ I can flash back to all the great moms I had in all those TV movies … but there’s a disconnect between the generations,” she says. “The younger generation [on the set] tended to hang out in a big kind of high-school feeling. I thought, ‘Can I still fit in?’ I had some of those feelings. I’m a girl…But at the end of the day I was so happy to go home to my kids. Twenty years ago, I could’ve worked 24 hours a day.”

Tori and her family watched the premiere of the new movie in her backyard with friends. Tori live tweeted during the entire movie.

“No, not at all, just because outside of ‘90210’ this is the project in my career that I get asked about the most,” says Spelling, 43. “I’m sure it’s almost entirely based on the [movie’s] title … but people ask, ‘When are you going to get back together with the gang and remake Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? It’s my favorite cult classic.'”
