Ivanka Trump Baby: The Donald’s Daughter Uses Instagram To Appeal To Working Women [Photos]

Ivanka Trump, the elder daughter of the 2016 presumptive Republican nominee for president, New York City businessman and brand licensor Donald Trump, has a social media strategy that strongly incorporates her personal life as a working mother of three young children — including her new baby, Theodore James Kushner, born March 27. Baby Theodore has had a starring role in his mother’s Instagram posts lately.

Ivanka Trump’s inclusion of her baby, her older children, her husband, her working life, and her self-care routines in her social media strategy represents an ingenious piece of her eponymous lifestyle brand — which includes a line of women’s shoes and ready-to-wear fashions along with handbags, jewelry, and fragrances — for obvious reasons. However, can it also have a net positive effect on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and his much-ballyhooed struggles with female voters?

Ivanka Trump’s Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter posts also document the time she puts into her primary day job, where she serves alongside her two full siblings — Donald Trump, Jr. and Eric Trump — as Executive Vice President of Development & Acquisitions at the Trump Organization. All three siblings, the children of Donald Trump’s first wife, former model Ivana Trump (née Zelní?ková), share the same title. Trump Tower, the midtown Manhattan building where the Trump Organization is headquartered (and where Donald and Melania Trump live in the penthouse with Ivanka Trump’s younger half-sibling, 10-year-old Barron) also contains offices devoted to the Ivanka Trump Lifestyle Collection.

Ivanka Trump impressively finds time to approve designs for dresses, shoes, and handbags that will be sold in her name in addition to helping run her father’s company and raising three small children, but she is perhaps best known for two things: her regular appearances on Donald Trump’s NBC reality television series The Apprentice, and her enthusiastic and frequent appearances as a campaign surrogate during her father’s 2016 run for president.

Ivanka Trump’s campaign role has been the subject of much media discussion, not only because she has spent more time making public statements than her father’s wife, former model and current businesswoman Melania Trump, but because of her vastly different temperament from the brash and sometimes crude one displayed by the candidate himself.

Ivanka Trump has used her position as a high-profile mother who works outside of the home to launch the Instagram and Twitter hashtag #WomenWhoWork, a branding strategy and social media campaign intended to provide encouragement to other mothers who work outside of the home. This image of Ivanka Trump herself and of the women who are targeted by this hashtag arguably represent a crucial voting bloc with whom Donald Trump is grappling to sway. His approval rating with female voters is notoriously low.

Ivanka Trump, age 34, isn’t the only potential First Daughter with a new baby. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Chelsea Clinton — the only child of the 2016 presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — announced the birth of her second child on Saturday, a son named Aidan. Chelsea Clinton and her husband, New York City hedge fund manager Marc Mezvinsky, may have provided a playmate for Baby Theodore, as the younger Clinton has a longstanding friendship with Ivanka Trump (which has been reported to have understandably cooled as their parents duke it out on the campaign trail).

Ivanka Trump converted to Orthodox Judaism in order to marry her husband, another New York City businessman named Jared Kushner, in an extravagant wedding ceremony at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey in October 2009. Baby Theodore James has two older siblings: Arabella Rose, age 4, and Joseph Frederick, age 2.

In addition to the aforementioned Barron Trump, Ivanka Trump also has a 22-year-old half-sister named Tiffany Trump from Donald Trump’s second marriage to actress and television personality Marla Maples.

Do you think Ivanka Trump’s social media strategy for her lifestyle brand can double as campaign outreach to female voters for Donald Trump? Does it help Donald Trump when an adorable video of Ivanka Trump’s baby laughing makes the Daily Mail, increasing her high-profile image as a working mother who ostensibly “has it all?”
