Everything You Need To Know About Brand New ‘RHOC’ Cast Member Kelly Dodd

There are just two days to go until the beginning of Season 11 of the Real Housewives of Orange County, and there is a lot to know about all that will be going on. Your favorite names are back again, but there is a brand new addition to the RHOC cast this season, and her name is Kelly Dodd. She may be presented as a stay-at-home mom who is all smiles and friendly, but there is so much more to know about her and she might surprise you.

New faces have taken a shot at becoming a part of the RHOC, but there are a lot of times they simply can’t hack it. When one leaves, though, Andy Cohen needs to bring in some new blood and he’s found one that may very well be able to stick around.

As reported by Bravo, the OG of the OC, Vicki Gunvalson, is returning again for another season and she is being joined by some old friends. Heather Dubrow, Tamra Judge, Meghan King Edmonds, and Shannon Beador are coming back as well and everyone knows about them, but what do we know about Kelly Dodd?

Believe it or not, Kelly Dodd initially turned down an offer from Bravo to be on a reality series three years ago. As reported by People, she simply said it “wasn’t a good time,” but things have changed and she’s prepared to join her friend Meghan on the show.

“Meghan said last year was a blast. [She asked me]: ‘Why don’t you do it?’ And they approached me again, and I was like, ‘Let’s do it. What do I have to lose?”

Being friends with Meghan, she’s gotten some advance warning of what could be coming her way this season on RHOC. Kelly has been warned about Vicki, and told to keep an open mind about anything and everyone on the show.

Kelly is no stranger to the show, but she was more familiar with the older cast, as Huffington Post revealed. She’s never been a full-on fan and watched all the time, but she’s acquainted with how things may go down.

“I watched it more when it was more of the beginning, the Cota De Caza scene. Once they started fighting…I really liked the relationships, the family, the teenagers, the parents. All the fighting stuff, I really wanted them to get back to the women and the family. I kind of stopped watching then, but when it would be on I would watch it, just never from the beginning to the end. I would see it because I would have Bravo on, I just didn’t follow it strictly.”

It may be needless to say, but she has some great taste in jewelry as proven by the Season 11 of Real Housewives of Orange County premiere party this past Thursday in Los Angeles.

For those that are wondering, Kelly Dodd is indeed a stay-at-home mother to her daughter, Jolie, but there are more family members in the house. Her mother, Bobbi, and younger brother, Eric, also live with her and her husband, Michael.

Speaking of Michael, he and Kelly have just recently reconciled and are trying to work on things a bit in their marriage. There have been troubles in the past and this season of RHOC should show a good bit of how their relationship currently is.

The huge sports fan will likely show her love of California teams this season and there are a lot of them. She is a supporter of the San Francisco Giants, Anaheim Ducks, and Los Angeles Lakers, so her allegiance is spread around and she is home-state proud.

By the looks of things, Kelly Dodd is going to fit right in with all the other women on the Real Housewives of Orange County, and she is already making a name for herself. Getting in and being accepted by the OGs of RHOC is not an easy task, as many have tried, failed, and been shown the door. There is a lot that Bravo sees in Dodd, though, and she may very well have found exactly where she belongs.
