Tyga: Kylie Jenner ‘Overshadowed’ My Musical Talents

Tyga finally spoke up for the first time about his recent split with Kylie Jenner, revealing how his musical career had suffered on account of their relationship.

In a radio interview with Big Boy, Tyga debunked the rumors that he is dating Kylie Jenner-lookalike Demi Rose, revealing to listeners that he is single and loving it.

“I’m single. I’m enjoying life,” Tyga said.

When asked about his recent split with Kylie, Tyga opened up about how his relationship with the 18-year-old reality star “overshadowed” his musical talents, and how the constant public attention had put a strain in their relationship, as reported by E! News.

“When you’re in a very public relationship like that, it’s hard for other people to see you differently than that, you know what I mean? And being in that, it just took a lot form me, you know, career-wise,” Tyga explained. “It overshadowed a lot of my talent, and a lot of things that I worked hard for.”

Tyga revealed in the radio interview that the split was a mutual decision between him and Jenner, also noting that they still respect each other. Interestingly, the 26-year-old rapper said that he is open to the possibility of a reconciliation some time in the future. But for now, Tyga is focusing only on himself and his career.

“I think it just got to the point where it was like, you know, ‘I respect you, you respect me,’ and you know…maybe later on in life, maybe we might come back, you know what I’m saying? But right now I want to focus on what I want to do,” Tyga revealed.

“I think it’s just a mutual thing…Like, this is what needs to happen,” the “Ride Out” rapper explained. “Because when something is so damaged, or something is just not right, like you can’t fix it in the moment. The only thing is
time.”

Tyga also hinted that Kylie’s age has contributed to the relationship going south, explaining that being young predisposes one to make a lot of mistakes, which could spell even more trouble in a relationship if those involved are always being scrutinized by the media every step of the way.

“And I think for her [Kylie Jenner], as well…she’s young,” he said. “And when you’re young, you’re going to make mistakes and kind of all of those mistakes are going to be in the public eye, so it puts a lot of strain on that relationship, you know what I mean?”

It’s worth noting that it wasn’t until Kylie turned 18 last year before Tyga confirmed their relationship. It wasn’t long ago when Jenner said she can’t wait to turn 18 so she can legally date the rapper, gushing over how he’s a “fine and perfect gentleman” who “treats her like a princess,” as reported by Hollywood Life.

Tyga, who recently appeared in his first movie Barbershop: The Next Cup and now has a reality show for MTV, said in the radio interview that his main focus for the present time is his career.

“That’s why for me, I just wanted to focus on like my career,” he explained. “I’ve done so much stuff over the last couple years…I just wanted to get back to me.”

Tyga also took the opportunity to talk about his former fiancée, Blac Chyna, the mother of his 3-year-old son, King Cairo. The two have been embroiled in a highly-publicized feud following Blac’s announcement late last year that she is dating Rob Kardashian, who happens to be Kylie’s half-brother.

As is already known by those who have been keeping up with the Kardashians, Khloe and the rest of her family expressed their disapproval of the relationship on account of Tyga’s history with Blac.

As such, these concerns seem silly now since Tyga and Kylie Jenner are no more. Blac Chyna, on the other hand, is now engaged with Rob Kardashian. Jenner, for her part, seems “really into” rapper PartyNextDoor.

“People gotta let her move on,” he declared. “It’s not my life anymore. Like, when you’re not with that person, what ever that person does after you, that’s [their] life, and that’s [their] decision. That’s [their] bed they gotta lay in.”

“That’s life, that’s love,” Tyga added. “People can decide to love whoever they want. I had a child with her, because that’s where I was at that point in my life.”

Do you think this is the end of the road for Tyga and Kylie Jenner?
