Nick Cannon Denies Holding Up Mariah Carey Divorce: Singer Forced To Delay James Packer Wedding — The Truth Revealed!

Nick Cannon has slammed reports claiming that he is holding up the divorce process between him and Mariah Carey because he’s desperate to get more money from the singer.

Initial reports revealed that Carey had become frustrated with the situation since the divorce was filed back in 2014. And while all of the asset sharing has already been settled, getting Nick Cannon’s signature to sign off on the divorce has been an ongoing challenge.

TMZ were the first to allege that the TV personality was still in love with Mariah, strongly insinuating that he didn’t want her to marry Australian billionaire James Packer. That said, an insider went on to add that, if Nick is being forced to overlook his other priorities in order to settle the divorce, Mariah will need to make a substantial payment to finalize the process once and for all.

Carey reportedly had no interest in spending her money on Nick Cannon just so that she can move on with her life. Her lawyers have now set things in motion that will hopefully get the America’s Got Talent host to speed up the process since Mariah had planned to marry James in a lavish wedding ceremony over the summer.

With that said, it doesn’t seem as if that’s going to be happening anymore since Cannon has wasted so much time, Mariah hasn’t even had the chance to plan her wedding yet because she doesn’t know when her estranged husband will finally let their marriage go.

In a statement obtained by Karen Civil, Nick has responded to the supposedly outrageous claims, stressing the following:

“My Ex and I are in a great place and are diligently moving things along so we both can continue to be happy. I am happy for her and all her new endeavors, both personal ones, and professional ones.”

The father-of-two then went on to address the press and tabloids who he claims have been writing lies about his divorce situation with Mariah for the past couple of months. Cannon strongly denies ever wanting to hold up the divorce because he’s still in love with his wife, continuing in his statement by saying:

“I sincerely hope the media doesn’t once again try to manipulate my words or my purpose for releasing this song. As the world knows, I am an open book and I’m proud of that. When it comes to expressing myself, I take the fearless approach and that’s what I chose to do here.”

Reports from earlier this week also claimed that Nick’s supposed actions to delay the divorce process have not only forced Mariah to postpone her summer wedding to James, but they’ve also been giving her problems in her relationship with the successful businessman.

Sources claimed that Carey and James would argue over the fact that Mariah’s husband was refusing to settle the divorce and move on with his life. On top of that, the singer has been rehearsing tirelessly for her Las Vegas residency. All in all, just about everything has been stressing her out, and it all comes back to those pesky reports that Nick just doesn’t seem to be ready to let the sultry songbird go.
