Selena Gomez And Justin Bieber Conquer The Billboard + Twitter Chart

Selena Gomez and her ex, Justin Bieber, continue to make chart-topping headlines. They may not be together anymore but when it comes to their job, their names keep coming up together to keep Jelena alive. Of course, it helps that they both have rolling concert tours for the time being.

For the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks, Selena and Bieber have made it to the top three honors. As Billboard explains, the chart ” is a weekly ranking of the most shared and/or mentioned songs on Twitter in the U.S., ranked by the volume of shares over a seven-day period (Monday to Sunday).”

Selena Gomez made it to the list through her “Kill Em With Kindness” single which generated 204,000 Twitter mentions for the week ending June 12. This was after she dropped the single’s music video on June 2. In addition to making it to the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks, the same single has likewise made it to the Billboard Top 10 on its second week.

This will be the sixth time that a Selena Gomez single has made it to the top ten of the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks. Also, this will be the fourth single off her Revival album to attain the feat. “Good for You” was No. 1 for two weeks, “Same Old Love” was No. 2, and “Hands to Myself” was No. 3.

These are definitely all music to Selena Gomez’ ears. She had worked so hard to craft a quality and awe-inspiring album, so it’s only a matter of time before the singles that make up the music record get the recognition and the revenues deserved. Not only are the titles of Selena’s latest singles catchy, the songs are likewise well-written and very easy to remember.

To illustrate, it will be difficult to forget “Same Old Love,” as the lyrics allude to Selena’s relationship with Justin Bieber. On the other hand, “Hands to Myself” has a naughty ring to it. With such memorable hooks and melodies in these songs, it’s very easy to understand why they have all made it to the top of the list.

Now let’s look into Justin Bieber’s work. “Company” is yet another very powerful music single and music video rolled into one. It appears to have this Lotto 649 appeal. It takes you to Bieber’s around-the-wold tour and makes you experience the trip vicariously. Neilsen Music confirms that the “Company” music video has been viewed in the United States 1.6 million times for the week ending June 9.

A previous Inquisitr story said that, if there is one thing that Selena Gomez admires about Justin Bieber, it is his passion for his work, and “Company” is one great example. There is no question that Justin is an authentic music prodigy, otherwise, his music career could not have risen in such an incredible fashion. From “Baby” to Purpose, the work of a music genius is evident.

The only thing that The Biebs can’t seem to control is his mood, which goes up and down rather frequently, occasionally getting him in trouble. But when you come to think of it, most musical geniuses have the same streak. Mozart, Beethoven, and Wagner are just a few examples.

Music is all about emotions, and thus being emotional and moody go hand in hand with the profession. In fact, it is the most emotional musicians who tend to make the best music over time.

As it sits right now, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are yet to dethrone Shawn Mendes for the “Treat You Better” music video. Mendes is still the reigning king of the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks. Selena and Justin can be content with their respective No. 2 and 3 positions. However, they can also muster enough Jelena force to beat Mendes at his game. How they are going to do that exactly is entirely up to them — but everything begins with teamwork.
