Javi Marroquin Prepares To Return Home From His Deployment In Qatar As His Divorce From Kailyn Lowry Continues

Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin announced plans to divorce during the Teen Mom 2 Season 7 finale last week and soon, fans will watch as their marital issues play out during the reunion special with Dr. Drew Pinsky.

During the upcoming episode, Kailyn Lowry will be seen chatting with the host and her husband, Javi Marroquin, who is seen at the reunion via FaceTime.

As fans saw on the show, Javi Marroquin was deployed to Qatar earlier this year and has been communicating with his wife and children, son Lincoln and step-son Isaac, through phone calls and FaceTime ever since.

In a sneak peek at the upcoming Teen Mom 2 Season 7 reunion special, Javi Marroquin makes it clear that he does not want to get a divorce. Although Javi Marroquin appeared to be the one who suggested the idea, explaining that he and Lowry simply had “no future” during the finale, he appears to have had a change of heart since filming, and expressed that during the special.

“Absolutely not,” Javi Marroquin responded when asked if a divorce was what he wanted. “I mean, she knows I want my family together more than anything in this world.”

Javi Marroquin also admitted during filming that Lowry’s 2015 miscarriage caused tension in their marriage after he blamed his wife for the incident.

“In my mind, I knew it wasn’t my fault, it wasn’t her fault, it wasn’t anybody’s fault,” Javi Marroquin explained. “I was just hurt and I took it out on her and that was my mistake. I’m sorry and I just want to apologize to her.”

Although a specific date for Javi Marroquin’s return to his home in Delaware has not yet been revealed, he spoke of his homecoming in a new tweet on June 15. After a friend tweeted to Marroquin, saying she missed him, he responded with the following message:

Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin tied the knot in 2012 and welcomed their son Lincoln one year later. However, with the addition of a new baby came new issues, and throughout the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, Lowry and Marroquin were often seen fighting.

“They’ve been unhealthy for a while, and Kail knew divorce was inevitable,” an insider close to the couple told Us Weekly earlier this month. “There was always a disconnect.”

Although there have been ongoing rumors of cheating on both sides, the insider claimed Lowry and Marroquin have been separated since December, so if either party had engaged in a relationship with someone else in recent months, it wouldn’t “really be cheating,” the source explained.

“The bottom line is they were two strong personalities who both want to be in control living together. They clashed,” the source added.

“It’s rough, it’s hard,” Lowry told a friend of Javi Marroquin’s deployment during the season. “[Deployment is] a lot harder on him than I thought it would be. He doesn’t feel supported.… We lose things to talk about. His day-to-day is the same, we have been fighting. Right now I feel like is the time for me to focus on myself.”
