Taylor Swift Writing New Music Post Calvin Harris Split — Will She Release A Breakup Album?

Taylor Swift is allegedly back to her old ways and writing breakup songs in the wake of her split from her boyfriend of 15-months, Calvin Harris.

Following the announcement of her and Harris’s somewhat surprising breakup on June 1, E! News is now reporting that Swift hasn’t been wallowing in her own sadness and has instead opted to put pen to paper to do what she does best and write about her heartbreak.

According to an insider who spoke to the site about how Taylor’s been doing since calling it quits with the Scottish DJ, Swift has “been writing new music” in the wake of the split and has been spending a lot of time with friends as she re-adapts to single life.

“Taylor is hanging out with her friends and keeping busy,” the source added, noting that Taylor will likely have a whole lot of material for her sixth studio album as she plans to spend the summer travelling around the world.

“She wants to be single for a while and have a relaxing summer,” the insider said, suggesting that Swift could release a breakup album when she returns to the spotlight.

Taylor’s new music claims come shortly after Hollywood Life reported that Swift was “definitely” planning on touching on her breakup in her new music, claiming that writing would be Taylor’s “therapy” as she deals with the split.

“Taylor will definitely be writing songs about this heartbreak and the end of the relationship. She knows it’s a cliché but this is who Taylor is,” an insider said. “She drowns her heartbreak in music. She expresses all her feelings in her songs until she can move on. It’s part of what makes her special.”

Reports claiming that Taylor Swift is ready to write new music comes just days after Hollywood Life also alleged that Swift’s close friend Selena Gomez was urging her to put her feelings into song and hit the studio.

“Right now Taylor is in shock over her break up with Calvin,” a source admitted of how Swift initially felt following the split at the start of the month, “but Selena and other friends are encouraging her to get back on stage and back in the studio, two things that may be best for her right now.”

But while Taylor’s friends may be encouraging her to put her feelings to music, ex-boyfriend Harry Styles, who is rumored to be the inspiration behind of a number of Swift’s biggest hits, is allegedly suggesting that Swift actually stay away from putting her most recent relationship into song.

A source close to Styles alleged to the site at the time that Harry “knows Taylor’s thing is to write about her ex boyfriends, but he thinks she should hold off when it comes to Calvin” because he supposedly believed there’s a chance the former couple could still reunite.

“He thinks she may regret it and could hurt the chances of them reconciling in the future,” the source alleged.

However, it sounds like the chances of us seeing Taylor and Calvin back together are pretty slim, as E! News‘ insider admitted that there’s little chance of a reconciliation for the pair.

According to the source who spilled the beans about Taylor’s new music plans, Swift “knows it was for the best” that she and Harris decided to end things before noting that the twosome “are not on bad terms” post-breakup.

“[Taylor and Calvin] have communicated since the breakup, but getting back together is something that’s not in the cards for either of them,” the insider noted.
