‘The Good Wife’ Cast Members To Appear On CBS’ ‘Braindead’?

The Good Wife cast members, including Julianna Margulies, may appear in the new CBS series BrainDead, according to Australia Network News. It was revealed by creators Robert and Michele King that a number of familiar names from the hit CBS drama could appear in their new series.

The Kings, creators of both The Good Wife and BrainDead, said in their interview with the Hollywood Reporter that their new series could star the hit drama’s cast members. However, they were quick to dismiss the rumors that the new series could be the spinoff of The Good Wife.

“The Kings haven’t ruled out introducing characters from Alicia Florrick’s world into the former, in addition to the several Good Wife actors who are already set to appear on BrainDead.”

So in addition to The Good Wife‘s Zach Grenier and Megan Hilty, who were previously rumored to appear on BrainDead, Margulies’s iconic character Alicia Florrick could also make an appearance in the new series.

In fact, Margulies could play the role of a lawyer for Luke and Laurel on BrainDead. And the Kings immediately thought of Margulies to play the part since they have worked together for eight years on The Good Wife, which announced its departure from the airwaves earlier this year.

It’s unclear whether or not Margulies will play The Good Wife‘s Alicia Florrick or some new character on BrainDead. In her recent interview with E! Online, Michele King said that at first the creators didn’t think there would ever be a connection between The Good Wife and their new series.

“We did what we wanted to do and it turned out it was quite different.”

However, there will be a separate spin-off of The Good Wife in spring next year. CBS has recently confirmed that the Kings are working on the hit drama spinoff, the story of which will be centered around Diane Lockhart and Lucca Quinn after Alicia’s betrayal in court.

CBS aired BrainDead‘s first episode on Monday, June 13, while the untitled spinoff of The Good Wife is expected to premiere in spring 2017.

It’s been less than a month since The Good Wife‘s last episode, and the Kings have a new series for their fans, according to The Los Angeles Times. BrainDead is a sci-fi horror comedy-drama, the story of which is centered around alien bugs that infest the brains of Washington D.C. residents.

Ridley Scott, director of Gladiator, The Martian, Prometheus, and other hit movies, is executive producing BrainDead. CBS, meanwhile, has given a chance to a yet another sci-fi series in its summer schedule alongside Under the Dome, Extant, and Zoo.

It’s believed by TV critics that The Good Wife and BrainDead creators hinted at the ongoing presidential race in the United States when they say in their new series’ opening title that in 2016, people “were losing their minds.”

“In 2016 there was a growing sense that people were losing their minds. And no one knew why… until now.”

BrainDead‘s story revolves around Laurel Healy (played by Elizabeth Winstead) and Democratic whip Luke (Danny Pino). Laurel is a struggling documentary director, while Luke is her senator brother.

But then Laurel (who is called BrainDead‘s Alicia Florrick from The Good Wife) gets the opportunity to finally prove herself useful in the Capital. As she feels something is wrong with Washington, D.C., Laurel begins her own investigation.

And it seems like The Good Wife‘s creators cannot give up their idea for a series’ main character to have two romantic interests. Just like Alicia Florrick, Laurel is attracted to two men, Republican operative Gareth (played by Aaron Tveit) and an FBI agent named Anthony (played by Charlie Semine).
