Grey’s Anatomy Star Jesse Williams Marries Longtime Girlfriend Aryn Drake-Lee
Sorry ladies, Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams is officially off the market.
After a lengthy courtship, the 31-year-old actor, who plays surgeon Jackson Avery on ABC’s hit drama, married his longtime girlfriend, real estate broker Aryn Drake-Lee, on Saturday in Los Angeles, People magazine reports.
“Jesse was beaming with joy throughout the entire ceremony,” a source who attended the wedding told People. “It was the perfect night with lots of smiling, laughing and emotion. You could feel the love they have for each other. They’re madly in love!”
According to People, the happy couple originally met in New York when Jesse was teaching middle and high school before landing his breakout role in The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants 2. They have been dating for five years.
“I was a teacher when I met her, so she’s been with me through all different facets of my career. She’s stuck with me through thick and thick and thick and thin,” Williams told USA Today in an interview in 2010. “We know each other in and out.”
The Kenneth Cole model has also previously stated how much he admires his 32-year-old bride’s confidence and independence.
“She is her own person,” he told People in 2009. “Being intelligent and self-made is a big deal for me.”
In addition to Grey’s Anatomy, Jesse Williams also appeared in the 2010 film Brooklyn’s Finest, which stars Don Cheadle, Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke, Wesley Snipes, and Ellen Barkin, and landed his first leading role as Holden McCrea in the 2012 MGM/United Artists horror film The Cabin in the Woods.
