Ellie Goulding Supports Zayn Malik’s Anxiety Revelation, Shares Workout

Both Ellie Goulding and Zayn Malik share more in common than you may think. Not only are they hot and happening British pop stars who are currently burning up the music charts, but they also both struggle with anxiety.

Shortly after Zayn Malik posted a message on Twitter about canceling his performance at Capital’s Summertime Ball due to anxiety, Goulding retweeted the message by sharing her sentiments for the “Pillowtalk” singer. She revealed that she knows all about the struggles of canceling important appointments and events last minute due to anxiety.

On Saturday, June 11, Zayn bravely took to Twitter to address his fans about his constant struggles with anxiety, which is the reason why he has canceled appearances and concerts in the past.

“Unfortunately my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me… with the magnitude of the event, I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career. I cannot apologise enough but I want to be honest with everyone who has patiently waited to see me, I promise I will do my best to make this up to everybody I’ve let down today,” he wrote.

Not only does Goulding support Malik, but she also works out to his music. Apparently, she’s a big fan of the former 1D singer, and she wants her fans to know. Goulding took to Instagram to share the workout regimen she used to get her lean and toned body.

In the black-and-white clip, the blonde pop star was seen working out to Zayn Malik’s hit song “Like I Would.”

Ellie used the upbeat dance song to help her get through an intense round of burpees, mountain climbers, and jumping squats. Ellie then finished off her leg and butt workout with some impressive high jumps. Since her split from McFly drummer Dougie Poynter, Ellie has made an effort to stay healthy and focused in the gym. She was also named as the current brand ambassador for Nike last year.

Goulding previously told Look Magazine that she also struggled with self-esteem issues long before she turned to fitness as an outlet.

“Before, I had a flat bum, no boobs, and not much shape. I’m way more womanly now. I’m a bit more confident with my body. I put it down to eating amazingly well. Now my body’s different, my face shape is different and my eyes are brighter, too.”

She credits her incredible shape to her regular workouts and vegan diet. Although Ellie was spotted showing off her incredibly lean and toned legs at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, the singer recently admitted that she’s holding off on releasing her next album. Ellie admitted that she’s actually too busy with her Delirium World Tour to even think about making new music.

“I honestly have no idea when I’ll be working on my next album,” she was quoted telling the Daily Star. “I have been in the studio for other bits of work but not for an album as such. I’ve done a few collaborations and there are a few things in the pipeline, but to be honest I am snowed in with my tour at the moment.”

Back in May, Goulding opened up to Flare Magazine about the anxiety and panic attacks that she suffered from at the height of her music career. It’s no wonder why Goulding related to Malik’s anxiety revelation, which he’s also experiencing at the start of his own solo career. Goulding candidly revealed that she was afraid to leave her house to work in the recording studio or perform at concerts in front of her millions of adoring fans.

“At the beginning of my career everything was very intense and it was a very different world to enter for a country girl like me. It was all a lot to take in; I think it is easy to get to a place where you panic about everything. But now everything is good, everything is cool now.”

Ellie credits Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for keeping her anxiety and panic attacks under control. How do you manage your own anxiety? Let us know in the comments section below.
