David Banner — Rappers Need To Bow Down To Migos

Why does David Banner think certain rappers should bow down to Migos? Actually, he has a good point. Here’s why.

The rap game has changed a little. There’s a flow that many rappers are picking up and introducing in their own lyrics. However, it wasn’t on the scene until Migos plugged in their controllers.

David Banner emphasized, during an interview with Hot 107.9, that many rappers from “all over the world” have snatched Migos’ style and ran with it.

However, when it comes to giving props where they’re due, Banner says that these rappers want to act like they don’t know of the Atlanta trio.

“They talking about all these people that have all the influence. But, these people are rapping like those children!”

David Banner continues to elaborate his point about Migos’ style and how “biting” rappers refuse to give them their props.

Likewise, Banner expounds that Southern rappers have been incredibly influential in what rap music is today.

For the most part, David Banner was among those who pushed the boundaries of 808 hits. However, with regard to his music, David has changed. He notes that The God Box is his best work yet.

While Banner says that he doesn’t really listen to the rap music of today, he still knows what “hits.” Specifically, David says that he still loves 808. However, as far as his mind is concerned, he doesn’t care for the things he used to back when he first started in music.

Thus, he mentions that such music isn’t what he chooses to feed his mind any longer.

People do change.

However, that doesn’t change David Banner’s statement about other rappers using Migos’ style.

For instance, take Desiigner’s “P.A.N.D.A.” as an example. It’s exactly as David Banner described during his interview. The entire lyrical delivery for that song is amazingly similar to Migos’. This is not saying that Desiigner stole the group’s flow, but it is similar.

Yet, in no way is Desiigner the only artist, as aforementioned.

Nevertheless, what makes matters worse is that various influential rappers have ridiculed Migos’ style.

However, those who have also been ridiculed — big and small — are coming together. David Banner mentions that people don’t like the transition that he has made as a musical artist. But then again, neither did people necessarily like the one that Kanye West made either.

As it turns out, on top of David Banner’s announcement, Kanye and Migos are about to be working together on “multiple songs,” notes Hip Hop DX. According to the source, Migos quotes as follows.

“Shout out to Kanye. We got multiple songs with him. We just lockin’ in. Just workin’. We always keep stuff in the vault. We got a lot of things with other artists too that’s always in the vault that you might hear snippets of. We just keep ’em in the chamber ready to be fired.”

Interestingly enough, Kanye signed Desiigner to his label after he released “P.A.N.D.A.,” and it was a major success. So now, will Kanye have Migos, too?

Probably not.

In a previous Inquisitr report, Migos were labeled within the top five “young prince” entrepreneurs of 2015. Essentially, they’re getting enormous payouts from their hard work, and they don’t have to pay label heads any ridiculous sums of money for overhead costs.

Why would Migos even dream of giving that up? David Banner didn’t mention particular rappers bowing to the Atlanta group for nothing, right?

All in all, Banner has given an “OG” voice to this generation of southern rappers. David recognizes the group’s unique flavor and what they bring to the table. Do you think other listeners and rappers should also give props where they’re due?
