Ellen DeGeneres Says Donald Trump Is ‘Welcome’ On ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’

Ellen DeGeneres is admitting that Donald Trump is “welcome” to make an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Ellen made the admission in a new interview with E! News, where the daytime talk show host, who’s been vocal about her support for Hillary Clinton, admitted that Trump would be welcome to appear on her uber-popular daytime talk show at any point.

“I mean, he’s welcome to come if he wants to come on,” DeGeneres told the site in the new interview, revealing that she didn’t know if the presidential hopeful has ever been formally asked to appear on the series since announcing his presidential run.

But just because DeGeneres is revealing that Donald is welcome, that doesn’t necessarily mean fans should expect to see the businessman on the daytime talk show anytime soon.

“I don’t think I see that happening,” Ellen confessed. “I don’t know that he would do that. But I wouldn’t say no if he wanted to be on.”

Notably, Donald has appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show numerous times in the past, mainly to promote the series Celebrity Apprentice, though Trump hasn’t sat down with the DeGeneres since announcing his run to become the President of the United States.

Trump even appeared to slam Ellen during her stint hosting the 86th Academy Awards back in 2014, where he claimed that she was “boring,” according to USA Today.

“Is this boring or is it just me? #Oscars” Trump tweeted out regarding DeGeneres’s hosting skills in March 2014.

“Just terrible!” Donald continued before telling his followers, “I should host the #Oscars just to shake things up – this is not good!”

“Ellen is sadly having a hard time with her lines. #Oscars,” Donald then wrote on the social media site.

Ellen has also taken aim at Trump numerous times on The Ellen DeGeneres Show since Donald revealed his hopes to become the next U.S. President, even joking about the size of his hands during a sketch back in March.

“During the last Republican debates, two of the candidates started arguing about size,” Ellen revealed before introducing the spoof. “I wish I was talking about egos, but I’m not.”

More recently, Ellen welcomed Hillary Clinton onto the daytime series to discuss her presidential run, marking one of a number of times Clinton has appeared on the series. Hillary took aim at Trump and claimed that he has no “understanding of what women’s lives are like today.”

Hilary told Ellen that she believes Trump has been “very derogatory” towards women before claiming on the popular daytime show that he “has specifically called out women by name, insulted them. He has said that equal pay isn’t a real issue.”

“He doesn’t seem to think that we need to do anything to create more jobs and raise incomes, and a lot of women are helping to support their families – or maybe they’re the only support,” Hilary continued of Donald Trump on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“I’m sure there is somebody somewhere that he might be good for,” Clinton added, “but I think overall there is just no evidence that he has an understanding of what women’s lives are like today.”

Ellen has thrown her support behind Hillary on a number of occasions on social media, most recently tweeting out on June 8, “I’ve never been prouder to have a woman card. @HillaryClinton,” which came just days after DeGeneres uploaded a snap of herself and Hillary on the show alongside the caption, “Woman Cards accepted here.”
