Tom Cruise allegedly had help from the Church of Scientology in a process to audition a wife, a new report is claiming.
In the wake of Cruise’s divorce with Katie Holmes this summer, allegations were leveled that before the pair got together, Tom was working with Scientology on a process to “audition” a wife, The Huffington Post reported. It was rumored that Scarlett Johansson and Sofia Vergara were both candidates.
Now more details about Tom Cruise’s alleged “wife audition” have been revealed. Vanity Fair reported in a cover story that the audition process was overseen by Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Scientology chief and Cruise’s close friend David Miscavige.
There was actually some progress on the wife audition, Vanity Fair reported. The search process reportedly found Nazanin Boniadi, an Iranian-born, London-raised actress and Scientologist, who Tom Cruise dated between November 2004 until January 2005.
The relationship only came after an intensive auditing process to ensure that Boniadi would make a good fit.
The article stated:
“Boniadi allegedly was told to lose her braces, her red highlights, and her boyfriend. According to a knowledgeable source, she was shown confidential auditing files of her boyfriend to expedite a breakup. (Scientology denies any misuse of confidential material.) The source says Boniadi signed a confidentiality agreement and was told that if she “messed up” in any way she would be declared a Suppressive Person (a pariah and enemy of Scientology).”
The arrangement reportedly didn’t go so well for Boniadi. She was shipped off to a Scientology Center in Florida after Tom Cruise saw her behavior toward David Miscavige as disrespectful. Then while there, she complained about the situation and stress of dating Cruise and reportedly punished for it.
A source told Vanity Fair:
“Boniadi’s punishment was to scrub toilets with a toothbrush, clean bathroom tiles with acid, and dig ditches in the middle of the night. After that she was sent out to sell Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard’s Dianetics on street corners.”
The source had other revelations about Tom Cruise, including allegations that the Church of Scientology made secret videotapes of his auditing sessions and that his pre-nup agreement with Katie Holes was so large that it filled five boxes.
