Former ‘SNL’ Star Victoria Jackson Defends Todd Akin, Calls Rape Babies ‘A Blessing’

Victoria Jackson, occasional actress and former Saturday Night Live star, has decided to take a stand on the whole Todd Akin controversy. According to The Examiner, not only does she feel that Akin’s remarks were right on the money, she also would consider a rape baby to be a “blessing” in her life. She also mentioned that prostitutes, given the nature of their profession, are just asking to be raped.

Jackson, who believes that she won’t get pregnant if she is ever sexually assaulted, explained that getting pregnant from such a horrible incident should be a source of joy in the victim’s life.

“If I got raped, I would have the baby. And if I didn’t want to keep it because I had these horrible nightmares, I would adopt it out,” Jackson said. “But I think that God can turn a bad thing into a good thing. And that, if I got raped and a beautiful baby who was innocent was born out of it, that would be a blessing. The DNA of a baby is individual. It’s not the mother’s DNA. It’s not the father’s DNA. And that’s why I believe abortion is murder, because it’s not the woman’s body. It has its own DNA. If there’s a boy baby inside of me, he has a penis. That’s not my body.”

During the interview with Huffington Post writer Michelangelo Signorile, Jackson was quick to defend Todd Akin’s comment, which, she feels, have been blown completely out of proportion.

“How many times do people get pregnant from rape? It’s point zero zero one percent,” Jackson stated. “It’s a joke. I read lots of articles. I know people, because I’m 53. I’ve know a lot of people, and I’ve actually never known anyone who got pregnant from being raped.”

Do you agree with Victoria Jackson’s beliefs about rape? Do you feel Todd Akin’s comments have been blown out of proportion?
