Duggar Family: Amy King Filming Her Own Reality Show In LA While Trying To Clear $52,000 Debt [Video]

Could Duggar family member Amy King have martial trouble on the horizon? While the rest of the Duggar family is keeping their fingers crossed that Jill & Jessa: Counting On is renewed, Amy King has been putting her marriage on reality TV by filming a season of VH1’s Couples Therapy.

While the Duggar family normally films its reality shows in Arkansas, Amy and Dillon have been filming in California, confirming the news with an Instagram photo captioned “#filming.” Fans wildly speculated that they might be filming the third season of Jill & Jessa: Counting On or their own TLC reality series, but according to the Hollywood Gossip, Amy and Dillon landed in Los Angeles at the same time Couples Therapy was filming.

Insiders say that Jill & Jessa: Counting On has yet to renew for a third season and the Duggar family is afraid it will be completely canceled. While the show had good ratings through the first and second seasons, TLC had a hard time selling advertising space, with many companies, such as Crayola, asking for their ads to be pulled following consumer complaints.

The Duggar family has been trying to show TLC they still have an enthusiastic audience, asking fans to share their stories about meeting members of the Duggar family and trying to trend the hashtag #BringTheDuggarsBack on social media, although it’s completely failed to catch on. As such, it’s likely Amy wasn’t filming any upcoming episodes of the Duggar family reality show.

Amy King and her husband didn’t go into any more detail about why a camera crew was following them around Los Angeles except to share with fans that filming had wrapped in a separate photo captioned “[h]eaded back home! LA was good to us but were ready to be back on AR soil @amyrachelleking #offset #home #goodtimes #safetravel.”

And, apparently, they made a friend: Renee Graziano, who starred on Mob Wives, commented on the selfie.

“Save [sic] flight lovers xoxoxo,” Renee shared on the selfie, adding, “Hope you got to New York okay. Stay in touch.”

It’s possible Amy and Dillon were filming to clear up some debt. Earlier this year, the story broke that the Duggar family members had some massive hospital bills totaling $52,000. King was sued by a Bentonville, Arkansas, to collect on the debt. Is it possible they’re filming Couples Therapy as a way to pay off the huge bill?

Amy and Dillon got married last year, and fans are wondering if the couple is already experiencing marital drama or if they’re simply as desperate to be on TV as the rest of the Duggar family. Amy married Dillon after courting for just two months, so it’s likely there was a lot the couple didn’t know about each other — possibly enough to fill a season of Couples Therapy drama.

At the time, the Duggar family was in the midst of the Josh Duggar scandals, which doomed their popular reality show 19 Kids & Counting, but for Amy King, getting married was “such a positive moment in our lives.”

The wedding included 400 of “only our closest friends and family and their families” as guests, and although Amy is known as “the rebellious Duggar,” butting heads with Duggar family patriarch Jim Bob Duggar again and again, the reality stars were still present when she was married. But one Duggar was missing; since Josh was in rehab in Illinois, he had to miss out on the festivities.

At the time, Amy confessed she was ready to dump the Duggar family name, revealing to People that “I can’t wait to change my name,” adding that “[i]t’s going to be a great day when Dillon signs that marriage license and my last name changes.”
