Carrie Underwood Stuns With ‘Church Bells’ Performance At CMT Awards, Pours Out Love For Hot Hubby And Fans
After Wednesday night’s airing of the 2016 CMT Music Awards that was held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, there is no question as to why Carrie Underwood has become a force to be reckoned with in country music. She took to the stage performing her newest single, “Church Bells,” and it was dubbed one of the best performances of the night.
Underwood showed what she is all about as she changed from her red carpet wear into a sexy black lacy jumpsuit to belt out her latest tune. She also had a little help from a few friends in black choir robes to assist her. As E! News reported, the gospel choir just added to the amazing effect and helped to give Carrie a standout performance. Her powerful vocals seemed to grab everyone’s attention.

Carrie Underwood may have left her 1-year-old son at home, but she did bring along her hockey-playing husband, Mike Fisher, and he couldn’t have been prouder of his superstar wife’s performance. You could tell by the smile on his face as the camera panned his way exactly how he felt about it. Even her fellow country musicians were on their feet praising her vocals.
She was also quite impressive walking the red carpet with her husband before the show started. Carrie was wearing a multicolored floral halter-style dress with a thigh-high slit that definitely showed off her toned leg.
Even though the 33-year-old singer looked amazing, it was her husband that Underwood wanted to talk about and she had no problem gushing about him. She told ET that she loves to show him off and that he is one hot dude.
“He always looks hot but tonight he looks especially hot. He’s gonna be mad at me for talking about his skinny jeans. They’re not skinny jeans, but they’re tighter than he normally does. He’s always hot.”

One particular person who just recently praised Carrie for her music is actress Nicole Kidman. Of course, she is married to the hunky Australian known as Keith Urban. She is more than impressed with her husband’s talent on stage, but she is also a big fan of his recent duet partner, Carrie Underwood.
According to People, Kidman admitted in an interview on the red carpet at the CMT Awards that she is obsessed with the song that Urban and Underwood teamed up for, called “The Fighter.” She and Keith love to lip sync together to have a little bit of fun and she explained how much she loves to play up Carrie’s part.
“I love it. All I can say is thank God for Carrie Underwood because it’s so easy to lip sync to her – she’s so good!”
“Since this is the Performance Award, I want to thank you guys for coming out and supporting country music on tour. We’ve spent the first part of the year on the road and it’s just been so wonderful to see so many people come out, and I know I speak for everybody out there, all of us artists who say you guys are the reason that we get to do what we get to do. Thank you so much for coming out and supporting us in concert. God bless you guys.”
Underwood is in the middle of her “Storyteller” tour right now and will eventually be joining Keith Urban in Australia towards the end of the year. She is also busy with her little guy, Isaiah, and her line of workout clothes for Dick’s Sporting Goods. It looks like she is not slowing down anytime soon.
