Ellen Grills Nick Jonas About Kate Hudson; Matt Lauer Prank War Intensifies

Ellen DeGeneres, best known for being the host of her own show Ellen and for being the voice of Dory in Finding Nemo and the upcoming Finding Dory, went all out with grilling a guest on her show in a recent episode.

According to Us Magazine, Ellen recently grilled Nick Jonas about his love life on a recent episode of the show.

The conversation started off with Nick revealing that he currently lives with his brother, Joe. The Jonas brothers moved in together in a place at Sherman Oaks, California, which Nick describes to Ellen as a very sophisticated and adult place to live.

Shortly after, Ellen got ready to grill Nick Jonas by sharing a photo of Nick attending the recent Met Gala, which he had attended solo last month. Cheers from the audience met the revelation that Nick attended the soiree by himself, until he was joined in a cozy space inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art by his former fling and rumored girlfriend, Kate Hudson.

Ellen jokingly told Nick that the audience was cheering for his loneliness and wanted to confirm that he is truly single now, to which Nick said that he really is: but it was clear that Ellen didn’t quite believe him, most likely because of the persistent rumors that Nick Jonas and Kate Hudson are more than friends.

Ellen then pushed forward with the questions by asking how Kate was. Nick, with a smirk on his face, said that she was doing great and that they had a group dinner the night before the Met Gala. He did say that there were a lot of people at the dinner and that it was a group affair. Ellen previously grilled Kate Hudson about her dating life, after reports of a steamy hookup with Nick Jonas in 2015 circulated the internet.

The Met Gala was an interesting event for Ellen, as it gave her the opportunity to revive her prank war with Matt Lauer, and Ellen revived it with a vengeance with a disturbing prank. According to Gossip Cop, Ellen had a doctored video of Matt Lauer at the Met Gala airing on her show and the video showed audiences the Today anchor without pants.

In the build up to the reveal, Ellen teased her audience that the Met Gala is the biggest party of the year, but that it’s a party she typically doesn’t attend. She playfully reeled in the attention of the audience by telling them that the video was going to show the elaborate outfits the celebrities arrived in. When the clip started, Beyoncé was seen, along with Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, and Kanye West. Then came Matt Lauer wearing a white dinner jacket with no pants, as he was wiggling his pixilated bare behind towards the camera.

Seeing this, the audience immediately erupted into laughter. Ellen told the audience, and Matt Lauer, knowing that he would see the show at some stage, that just when he thinks that the prank war is over, it is most certainly not over. Ellen DeGeneres and Matt Lauer have been involved in an intense prank war for a very long time now, and this is not the first time that Ellen has doctored footage of Lauer and put him in a very embarrassing situation.

One of the most recent highlights is when she made it look like Lauer was doing his segment on the Today show wearing bondage gear. Shortly after the video made its way online, Matt Lauer responded on Twitter, publicly tweeting to Ellen that after a year of delicate peace talks, it all went down the drain with that one prank. He told her that she has exposed his privates for the very last time. Ellen DeGeneres replied to his tweet, asking him if he actually remembered being there, or whether it was all just a blur.

Matt Lauer responded on his Today show, calling Ellen’s prank “disturbing.”

“I find this to be a rather disturbing development.”

He went on to ask viewers to let him know “any and all suggestions” for retaliation.

It will be very interesting to see what happens next with Ellen and Lauer’s prank war!
