Taylor Swift Split: Was She Talking Marriage With Calvin Harris?

While Taylor Swift’s split from Calvin Harris has been devastating for their fans, it might be twice as painful for Swifties to find out that the pop singer was supposedly hoping to marry her DJ beau.

In a report by Entertainment Tonight, a source told the show that Taylor Swift was hoping to marry Calvin Harris.

“A few weeks ago she was talking about marrying him,” said a source.

Not only did the source say Swift had wedding bells on her mind, but they also said that the breakup between the two entertainers was not mutual by any means. The source truly believes that Calvin Harris was the catalyst behind the split and Swift was merely the victim.

Taylor Swift’s split from Harris hasn’t completely torn the Grammy Award winner apart, however. In fact, Swift crashed a New Jersey wedding last Saturday to surprise a fan. Newlyweds Max Singer and Kenya Smith had chosen “Blank Space” as their official wedding song. In April, the groom’s sister had reached out to Swift, explaining that their mother had recently passed away. Prior to death of the groom’s mom, the couple decided to marry ahead of time in her hospital room. The groom had chosen Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” as their mother-son dance song. The groom’s sister had hoped that pop star could attend the wedding and perform her hit. Taylor Swift happily obliged.

Not only did the Grammy winner perform a touching piano rendition of “Blank Space,” but she looked stunning in a beautiful golden gown, her hair in a classy bun and some ruby red lipstick.

Since his split from Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris has had a lot going on. Last Friday, the DJ was spotted in a medical clinic in Beverly Hills, California, appearing to be in a great mood. On Saturday night, he grabbed some sushi at Nobu in Malibu, California with Frank Ocean. This comes just weeks after Harris was in a car crash, forcing him to remain in the hospital and cancel several scheduled performances in Las Vegas.

Taylor Swift’s split hasn’t only been on her mind, but Calvin Harris has also expressed his thoughts on the breakup. The DJ addressed his break-up on social media with the following tweet.

Taylor Swift’s split hasn’t caused her to have any bad blood with her ex. The Grammy Award-winning artist actually retweeted her ex-boyfriend’s tweet shortly after he had posted it. Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift still appear to be good friends. Yahoo Entertainment reported that Harris would not lose visitation rights from Swift’s two cats. Reportedly, during the 15-month relationship, Calvin Harris had grown close to the pop star’s two cats, Dr. Meredith Grey and Detective Olivia Benson.

Still, some speculation remains around the Taylor Swift split. According to a report by Hollywood Life, a source told the magazine that Taylor Swift was “devastated” following her breakup with Calvin Harris. The pop star allegedly was pressuring Harris into marriage, the source claims.

“Taylor was starting to pressure Calvin into walking down the aisle and he just felt that he wasn’t ready yet…He’s still, and always will be, career-focused and doesn’t want to settle down just yet…He envisaged getting married at 35-plus, and wasn’t comfortable taking about getting hitched after just a little over a year of dating.”
