The Duggar Family Asks For Help, Have They Been Canceled Again?
The Duggar family has taken quite a public beating over the last several months. From Josh Duggar’s infidelity and lies to a new show for the family on TLC, a lot has changed over the last year. Jill & Jessa: Counting On ran one season so far, and fans have been waiting to see whether or not it would be picked up for another season. The Duggar family came under fire for their use of donation money, and Jill Duggar has been heavily criticized for her choice to move her family out of the country for mission work.
Right now, it appears the Duggar family will not be returning to the TLC network for another season of Jill & Jessa: Counting On. There was a small attempt to get a movement going using a hashtag, but there was no momentum behind it. According to the Hollywood Gossip, the Duggar family is getting desperate. Since there has been no official word one way or the other, fans are losing hope. Jill & Jessa: Counting On was decent for ratings for the network, but the drama it caused with advertisers was not something that TLC was prepared to handle. After several big companies pulled their ads, things started to go downhill. Without the show, the Duggar family will become a thing of the past.
Things with Josh Duggar really caused a lot of strife for the entire Duggar family. He forced his sisters to relive their past in the public eye. The humiliation was obvious when Jill and Jessa talked about it for the initial airings of Jill & Jessa: Counting On from last December. The infidelity that was revealed affected the entire Duggar family as well. It went against everything they believed in and left Anna Duggar looking foolish. Several rumors have come to pass about Anna Duggar being pregnant, though nothing has been proven. They began when she visited her husband in rehab back in December. Since Anna was a part of the Duggar family show, a pregnancy would have been easily detectable.
Since there has been no news on the return of the show, which reportedly has the Duggar family worried. They have started asking fans for support, and there have been some movements started. It seems that the fascination with the Duggar family has died down, though the hatred aimed at them has been consistent. TLC has a tough decision regarding what to do with Jill & Jessa: Counting On, especially with the lack of advertisers willing to air in the slots along with the show. Several pulled out during the season, which caused a lot of controversy for the network.
As fans eagerly anticipate the renewal or cancellation news, the Duggar family is reportedly busy working behind the scenes on other ideas for shows. There have rumors that Jill and Jessa Duggar have planned to get pregnant together in order to garner ratings. Jill had given birth just before the season of 19 Kids and Counting ended, but Jessa was still early on in her pregnancy. While Jill & Jessa: Counting On did show Jessa giving birth to her son, it wasn’t the same as watching Jill.
Even if the Duggar family does get canceled, their fans will still be asking for them to be back on the air. They are still active with their blog for family updates and remained active even when they were canceled the first time. With so many of the children becoming adults and getting ready for the courting process, the Duggar family will have plenty to talk about even if they don’t have their own show anymore.
