WWE News: See Seth Rollins Return To The Ring [Video]

Seth Rollins made his big return to the ring not on WWE television, but at a small house show in Odessa, Texas. Fans in Odessa knew they would be getting AJ Styles in action, but few suspected there would be a three-way match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship highlighting the show. The main event of the WWE house show in Odessa saw Roman Reigns defend his title in a three-way match against AJ Styles and the returning Seth Rollins.

Reigns picked up the win, to no one’s surprise, and he did so by pinning AJ in the match. Seth Rollins did not eat the pin, looked strong, and will continue to build to his eventual one-on-one title match coming this month at the Money in the Bank event. Some footage popped up on YouTube of highlights from the return of Seth Rollins to the WWE ring.

Not only did Rollins compete there, but 411mania reported that WWE fans in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday night and Amarillo, Texas, on Sunday night saw a four-way for the title, where Roman Reigns actually pinned Seth Rollins on Sunday night. That match also included AJ Styles and Sheamus. While it was nice to see Styles not eat a second pin in a row, it was strange to see Rollins lose when Sheamus was also involved and could have taken the loss instead.

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have been playing mind games ever since Rollins made his return to attack Reigns at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Rollins dropped Reigns with the Pedigree at that event and then has been dodging Reigns ever since. The one time that Rollins actually got into the ring with Reigns was when Shane McMahon gave him the WWE title match opportunity for this month’s Money in the Bank event.

Meanwhile, AJ Styles has transitioned out of his WWE world title feud and into a feud with John Cena. While Styles and Cena will likely feud through SummerSlam, he is still getting into WWE world title matches on the house show circuit to allow Rollins the chance to transition back into the ring and shake off any ring rust that built up over the last year on the shelf.

Seth Rollins has also been in the news recently when answering the criticism that was leveled against him by Bret “The Hitman” Hart. The WWE Hall of Fame legend admitted that he is a fan of Rollins, but he accused Seth of playing too reckless in the ring and pointed out that Rollins broke John Cena’s nose in a match last year.

Hart prided himself on never hurting anyone in the ring during his career and compared Rollins to Shawn Michaels, who he said played it really safe in matches. He then also took a jab on Rollins getting injured while WWE world champion, saying that the champion needs to protect himself because injuries are not allowed for the champion. Wrestling Inc. reported that Rollins admitted he was hurt by the criticism.

“I know he comes from a different era when he worked through a lot of stuff, but, man, that sucked. That hurt my feelings. I’m like, ‘dude, I idolized you. You were one of the guys who, at 6’1″ [and] 230 [pounds], you were a guy who I was like, ‘I can do that because Bret Hart does it’, so, like, for him to [say that]. He [has] got to know how hard I’m working every night for him to kind of say that in an interview.”

Seth Rollins will remain front and center on WWE television heading into Money in the Bank, and his feud with Roman Reigns should stretch out even longer after that. With the brand split coming, the Inquisitr previously reported that Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are expected to be the major heel and face of one brand, likely Raw, and their feud will probably highlight that show. Seth Rollins will be back tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw, which airs at 8 p.m. EST on the USA Network.
