Girls’ Generation: K-Pop Girl Group Reunites To Celebrate Birthdays Of Sunny And Yoona

So far this year, So Nyeo Shi Dae — better known as Girls’ Generation — have been busy with individual activities and solo endeavors. Yoona, Sooyoung, and Seohyun are busy with acting gigs in K-dramas. Hyoyeon and Sunny have taken the variety show route, especially the latter who is best-known for being the “Aegyo Queen.” Finally, Taeyeon, Yuri, and Tiffany are concentrating on solo music endeavors in which Taeyeon released her title track “I” back in 2015 followed by “Rain” which was used as the premier track for Station. Tiffany recently released her album with the featured track “I Just Wanna Dance,” and she is going face-to-face with former Girls’ Generation member Jessica.

From what can be summarized from the aforementioned, it does not seem Girls’ Generation will be coming together anytime soon. As a matter of fact, the last group activity the popular K-pop girl group had done were the final two shows of Girls’ Generation’s Phantasia in Taipei, Taiwan.

Nevertheless, Girls’ Generation “reunited unofficially” recently for one thing and one thing only… well two things actually. It is now known Girls’ Generation got together to celebrate the birthdays of members Sunny and Yoona.

The eight members of the popular K-pop girl group recently made time to gather together for an intimate dinner in celebration of the May birthdays, Sunny and Yoona, who were born on May 15, 1989, and May 30, 1990, as reported by Soompi. For those who are counting years, Sunny is 27-years-old while Yoona is now 26-years-old.

Of course, each member made sure to post up pictures on their official Instagram accounts showcasing the festivities. Sunny, Seohyun, Hyoyeon, and Sooyoung posted the same picture which shows all the girls posing for a selfie in which Sunny seems to be the one initiating the snapshot.

The picture both Yoona and Tiffany shared on their official Instagram accounts showed off their simplistically cute attire as well as the restaurant they had their birthday celebration dinner. Sunny and Yoona are poised in front of their birthday cake while Taeyeon takes position to the side. The other girls, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Seohyun, Sooyoung, and Yuri are throwing goofy gestures in the background. Tiffany stands out for her “I Love You” while Sooyoung stands out for her two peace or victory signs.

Tiffany posted a tad bit extra pertaining to Sunny and Yoona’s birthday celebration. She uploaded a video of the girls singing “Happy Birthday” in Korean followed by both Sunny and Yoona blowing out the candles on their cake.

With both Sunny and Yoona celebrating their birthdays, there are only four members left who have yet to celebrate their respective birthdays this year. First will be Seohyun on June 28 (turns 25-years-old), Tiffany on August 1 (turns 27-years-old), Hyoyeon on September 22 (turns 27-years-old), and finally Yuri on December 5 (turns 27-years-old). Sooyoung and Taeyeon already had their birthdays on February 10 and March 9 respectively.

As for Girls’ Generation officially making a comeback as a group this year, there is no official word. It will most-likely happen sometime in the Autumn season, the same season in which Girls’ Generation released Lion Heart back in 2015.
