One Direction’s Sixth Month Vacation Does Not Bring News For Band’s Reunion Date

One Direction has been on vacation for the past six months, and Niall Horan stated in an interview that he cannot believe how the time has flown by.

According to Channel 24, Niall Horan told Global Radio that “It doesn’t feel like it [but] we’ve been off six months already… it feels like it was only yesterday that we were touring.”

Niall Horan went on to say taking a break from One Direction has been good for him because he does not really need to have a schedule and he is free to work on other projects.

Sadly, there are also reports that Simon Cowell thinks that the chances that One Direction will reunite after vacation are only 50/50, and Cowell was quoted stating the following.

“As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to trust people more, particularly artists. They’ll decide when they want to come back together… I don’t know if it’s a hiatus or a breakup, to be honest. In a weird way, I don’t want to know. I don’t think they’ve had enough time to experience what it’s like not being in the group to really answer that.”

In the meantime, it appears that all members of One Direction are continuing their careers and are not dropping out of the limelight. For example, Harry Styles is working on new music with Ainsley Smart and has at least one movie acting role with Dunkirk, according to UnReality TV.

Liam Payne is also continuing with music and has been behind-the-scenes with various artists like Wiz Khalifa, Jennifer Lopez, and his girlfriend, Cheryl.

Louis Tomlinson will be auditioning to play Jamie Vardy in a biopic about the footballer and raising a newborn, according to Daily Star.

Niall Horan teased about releasing music with a band called 1 Lad 2 Dads, but the truth is that he is recording solo music and is likely to be the first One Direction member to release music, according to OK.

Of course, it has not all been sunshine and roses for One Direction while they are vacation. For example, Belfast Telegraph writes that Liam Payne is excited to continue his relationship with Cheryl, but she is not yet divorced.

Louis Tomlinson is also having trouble in his personal life because things are not as positive as they could be with the mother of his child, Briana Jungwirth — and part of the problem are One Direction “fans” causing Briana security concerns, according to Hall of Fame.

Mirror reports that Harry Styles has been troubled over the recent past when he had to attend the funeral of his friend, Matt Irwin, who committed suicide.

Niall Horan appears to be dealing with the least amount of disappointment, unless you count the One Direction “fans” that he said are harassing him, according to Hollywood Life.

On the other hand, one thing that has not changed about One Direction since they went on vacation is their dedication to charity. As some of the richest musicians under 30, according to Digital Spy, and with worldwide popularity, they have put their celebrity status to good use by shining a light on important charities.

For example, since the hiatus in January, Harry Styles has promoted the Little Princess Trust charity that makes wigs for children with cancer, as previously reported by the Inquisitr.

Liam Payne joined Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, according to his Instagram account, and he is supportive of a charity trust that his girlfriend, Cheryl, founded.

Louis Tomlinson took time out of his busy life raising One Direction’s first newborn to promote UNICEF’s Soccer AID with Niall Horan, according to Manchester Evening News.

Speaking of Niall Horan, he went on a full vacation to Asia for the first part of 2016, and One Direction fans worried they would never see him within the reach of a cellphone tower ever again.

Despite this, it could be observed that since One Direction went on hiatus, Niall Horan has been the most public of all the One Direction members about promoting, organizing, and raising money for charity.

For example, Sugarscape writes that Niall Horan has been taking time off from One Direction by attending several charity golf fundraisers, as well as organizing one of his own. At the Horan and Rose golf event, Niall helped raise over £800,000 ($1,157,320) for the Kate and Justin Rose Trust and kids cancer research charity.

In the end, one of the interesting aspects of One Direction’s vacation is that they continue to win awards. For instance, One Direction recently won a Billboard Music Award and their song “History” went platinum over the first of June in the U.K., according to Celebmix.
