‘Bachelorette’ Contestant Evan Bass: How Far Does Evan Make It With JoJo, Financial Issues A Turn-Off?

Bachelorette contestant Evan Bass didn’t get JoJo’s first impression rose, but the erectile dysfunction expert from Nashville has impressed her enough to make it through the first few rose ceremonies. Will the mild-mannered single dad continue to get roses or will his personal financial struggles surface and become a deal breaker for JoJo?

[Warning: Bachelorette Season 12 spoilers ahead]

According to his Twitter bio, Evan, 33, is the founder and director of the Tennessee Men’s Clinic, a center that specializes in treating erectile dysfunction. In a previous report from the Inquisitr, JoJo is looking for a man who is “successful and wealthy,” so it certainly sounds like Evan would be a match — he appears to have a stable job in the medical industry.

However, according to Radar Online, Evan and his then-wife Marie filed for bankruptcy in 2011 after racking up over $223,000 in debt from credit cards, loans, and a business lawsuit. The report states that the parents-of-three had a combined average monthly income of $6,522,” but they were outspending their income and only had “$21.79 to spare” each month.

Will Evan address his financial issues on a date with JoJo? And how will that affect his chances to win her heart? Here’s how his time on the Bachelorette plays out, including news about how another TV venture may put some extra cash in his pocket.

Fans will see Evan on several group dates in the upcoming episodes. Of course, producers made sure he was one of 12 guys picked for the Episode 3 sex talk group date — what’s better than an erectile dysfunction expert when it comes to talking about sex?

Unfortunately for Evan, the group date also includes his season’s villain, Chad Johnson, who makes the date uncomfortable for not just Evan, but the other guys as well. According to Reality Steve, Evan tells JoJo that he doesn’t want to talk about his sex life because he doesn’t want his sons to see his story on TV, so he decides to talk about Chad instead. That doesn’t go over well and Chad reportedly shoves him on stage.

“Evan went up second to last… he just started ripping Chad talking about people on testosterone, their veiny, they have mood swings… Once he was done, Chad was last to go and as they cross each other, Chad pushes him and rips Evan’s shirt.”

Evan doesn’t strike back, but he does end up getting some sympathy from JoJo. During the group date after party, he gets a rose and will travel with the remaining 14 guys to the next round of dates in Pennsylvania.

Although Evan continues to get roses from JoJo, scoring a one-on-one date is an issue. On Episode 4 (June 7), he is once again part of a group date and the theme continues on Episode 5 (June 13) when spoilers point to Evan getting picked to go on yet another group date in Uruguay.

Fans will have to watch the Bachelorette and see if Evan gets some alone time with JoJo and discusses his divorce, kids, and the bankruptcy that was reportedly discharged in 2012. It’s not clear if he even got enough time to open up to JoJo, but either way, spoilers indicate that she will send him home during the Episode 5 rose ceremony.

There’s good news on the horizon if Evan could use an extra source of income. Although he didn’t find love, or make any money on the Bachelorette, there is speculation that he may appear on the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise alongside several of his co-stars from JoJo’s season. The only drawback? Chad Johnson will be there.

Of course, contestants aren’t paid all that much for their appearance on the show — last season, the cast were rumored to be paid between $7,000 – $15,000 for their appearance on the show. Evan will have to consider the potential drama, heartbreak, and, of course, potential harassment from Chad if he is offered the gig.

Watch the Bachelorette on Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET with the exception of Episode 4 and 5 which will air back-to-back on June 7 and 8 on ABC.
