Synopsis–The Inherited On Lifetime Movie Network (LMN)

Eve has finally married the man who she believes can make her happy, and she couldn’t be more excited to move into their new home–a house that Tom inherited from a family member.

However, the will didn’t mention anything about the house having a dark history, a fact that is apparent from the very first night they spend there. Turns out, the spooky abode was willed to him by his deceased former wife, who died under tragic circumstances. From the outside looking in, it appears that the big white house with black shutters is cozy, but Eve is sure that she is not only hearing strange noises, she is seeing things, too.

Eve knows that she’s not crazy, but she is convinced that someone else is in the house. She finds solace in the housekeeper, who seems to know more about the house’s history than she is telling. As the days pass, Eve is convinced that someone is trying to kill her. Living in her own personal hell, Eve endures the most scary and wicked images imaginable.

Though, there is no mention of whether this latest movie is inspired by a true story or true events, there are countless stories about real haunted houses, according to Places You’ll See. Here are three infamous haunted houses.

These Haunted House Stories Are Downright Spooky

The Villisca Axe Murders–In 1912, the bodies of eight people were found in the home. They had been murdered with an axe, and six of the victims were children!

Los Feliz Murder Mansion—In 1959, a doctor bludgeoned his wife to death with a hammer and tried to kill his teen daughter, before he eventually killed himself. According to the New York Daily News, no one has lived in the mansion for 50 years.

The Amityville Horror House–In 1974, 23-year-old Ronald DeFeo Jr., shot and killed everyone in his house. After the murder, another family moved onto the beautiful waterfront property but claimed the house was haunted. Their story was the basis of a book and a movie. Today, it’s back on the market, according to NewsDay.
