How Sara Gilbert And ‘The Talk’ Beat ‘Ellen’ For The Daytime Emmy

Sara Gilbert appeared in public with her son Rhodes, according to the Daily Mail. The Talk host is smitten with her young son who turned 1-year-old at the end of February.

Sara Gilbert was photographed with Rhodes in both hands as she carried him around in Beverly Hills. The boy was first seen showing his walking skills on the sidewalk and then the former Roseanne star picked him up.

The two reportedly left Sara Gilbert’s friend’s home as they were caught by paparazzi who started taking snaps of Rhodes, who is Gilbert’s child with wife Linda Perry. Perry and Gilbert wed two years ago.

Sara Gilbert opted for a pair of denim jeans, a white t-shirt, and a white jacket. She complemented her matching ensemble with a pair of white slip-on shoes. Her son, meanwhile, wore baggy gray pants, a dark t-shirt, and a pair of tennis shoes.

Sara Gilbert has two other children with her ex-partner, TV producer Alison Adler: 11-year-old son Levi and 8-year-old daughter Sawyer. Gilbert and Adler broke up in 2011 and have remained on friendly terms ever since. The two had been dating for over 10 years.

Sara Gilbert came out as a lesbian in 2010. In September 2015, Sara Gilbert’s now-wife Linda Perry released an album of children’s music titled Deer Sounds. The album was inspired by her son Rhodes, whom she gave birth to on February 28, 2015.

The former 4 Non Blondes frontwoman is taking inspiration from what’s going on in her life, Sara Gilbert explained after her spouse released the album.

“It started to become this family project, this sweet, beautiful experience.”

Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, and Sharon Osbourne have recently beat The Ellen DeGeneres Show for a Daytime Emmy, according to Gay Star News. The Talk hosts have beat the seven-time Emmys champion daytime talk show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.

This is The Talk‘s first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Daytime Entertainment Talk Show. The Talk is co-hosted and executive produced by Sara Gilbert. While accepting the award, Gilbert revealed she was very surprised that she ended up picking up the award.

“I never thought that an idea that I had in my bathtub seven years ago would end up [with] us up here.”

Sara Gilbert read her acceptance speech from her phone as she received The Talk‘s first Daytime Emmy at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. And the secret how the show’s co-hosts ended up winning the award was “an alchemy” that brought them together.

“I wanted everyone to feel more connected.”

And even though Sara Gilbert is the only Emmy winner in the category of the five co-hosts of The Talk since she executive produces it, she still said she will split the award five ways.

The Talk, executive produced by Sara Gilbert, beat not only The Ellen DeGeneres Show but also The View, The Wendy Williams Show, and The Real. A day after Gilbert received the award, she revealed during The Talk‘s episode that the win was a total shock for her and her fellow hosts.

“People ask if we were expecting to win. We were so shocked. I would have learned my speech – that’s proof that we had no idea.”

However, Sara Gilbert and company didn’t manage to take out the Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show host category. It was Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan and their Live With Kelly and Micheal who were victorious in that category.

But neither Ripa nor Strahan attended the ceremony. Their win came just days after it was announced by Strahan that he is leaving the show, resulting in Ripa’s outrage and complaints that the show’s executives didn’t warn her about it.
