Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani Romance Was A Surprise? ‘All Of A Sudden, She Became My Closest Ally’

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani had gone through a lot last year, both getting a divorce from their respective partners Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale. The country superstar became a regular tabloid headline ever since his divorce with his ex-wife and romance with his The Voice co-star emerged.

There were even speculations that Shelton and Stefani cheated on their exes because they suddenly ended their marriage with Lambert and Rossdale without any signs of trouble in their relationships. During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Blake revealed how he fell in love with Gwen.

“We were starting The Voice last year, and I had to sit down and go, ‘Look, by the time this thing airs, my life will have completely changed, and we need to talk about this now because it may affect what we talk about on the show.’ I just felt like there doesn’t need to be secrets,” he said.

“And then the same thing [happened] with Gwen. It was like, ‘Here’s what’s going on, this show ain’t gonna air until three months from now, so let’s get this talked about right now.’ That’s how we even found out what was going on. And we just started to develop a friendship after that. And it took awhile, because it’s chaos. But just over time, seeing each other a lot at work, it just kind of developed into that,” the singer added.

Blake Shelton confessed that he felt devastated after his divorce from Miranda Lambert was finalized. He didn’t expect that making music would help him get the pain out of the system. While working on his new album, the 39-year-old country singer started getting closer to the 46-year-old pop star.

“I was spending some time with Gwen all of a sudden, and she became my closest ally, my friend, my person in my life who had my back, and I had hers. And created this bond with somebody that I never would have thought in a million years,” he said.

Based on what the “Came Here To Forget” singer said, it seems that his romance with the No Doubt lead singer was unexpected. Shelton and Stefani may already be going through a tough time in their respective marriages, but they just decided to keep it away from the media. However, the truth started to come out after both divorced their partners.

Blake has become one of the most talked about celebrities today. The singer and his ex-wife and new girlfriend are always on the cover or headline of every tabloid. The “God Gave Me You” hitmaker admitted that the stories used to upset him but he realized that it pays really well. He claims that his personal life isn’t that exciting, but they still want pictures of what he does.

A few months ago, there were reports that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are engaged. According to Hollywood Life, the two have already made plans for their wedding which will be held in the country superstar’s home state.

“Gwen wants a corn maze and carnival rides, plus okra, smoked meats and barbecue,” a source close to the planning tells Life & Style magazine. “The dress code will be ‘Southern dressy-casual,’ like plaids, flip-flops and nice jeans.”

There were even rumors that Blake Shelton’s ex-wife Miranda Lambert may get married on the same day as theirs. Hollywood Life reported that the two ladies are eyeing July 4 as their wedding date. However, the “Make Me Like You” singer isn’t really happy sharing the spotlight with her boyfriend’s former partner. Just recently, Gwen Stefani had set the record straight regarding the engagement rumors.

“Let’s just look at the last year. Let’s just take it one day at a time. Everything’s crazy right now, so no, absolutely not, are you crazy?” she said during an interview on 94.7 Fresh FM’s The Tommy Show.
