Food Fight: Paleo And Vegan Followers Spar About Which Is The Better Way To Eat

Cliques are everywhere. One cannot escape them. In high school, most people wanted to be in the “cool kids” club. Now in the fitness niche, there is a growing clique and war going on. It is Paleo followers versus vegan followers. Each side is very passionate about their team.

So, how do we stop the arguing and food war and compromise somewhere in the middle? How do they band together against the war on obesity and make a real difference? They both want the same thing in the end — healthy children that will embrace whole foods while keeping processed foods to a minimum.

Experience Life revealed that both sides can agree on a few very important key points. First, vegetables and fruits are healthy foods. Not only are they healthy, but they are also low in calories which help keep your weight within a normal range. Both Paleo and the vegan diet consist of 60 percent or more food items based on fruits and vegetables.

Secondly, nuts are a perfect food for you. True, they have fat in them. However, the benefit of the nuts and seeds far outweigh their added fat content.

Both Paleo and vegan dieters agree that no one should consume fast food on a regular basis. People are meant to feast on natural whole foods.

The last point they both agree with is cow’s milk was made for baby cows. Neither side believes that adults have any reason to consume dairy products. Many states have made it illegal to eat or drink raw dairy, which coincidentally is the healthiest way to consume them. Dairy milk, from the shelf in the grocery store, is processed and full of chemicals and hormones.

Research has proven time and time again that repeated exposure to milk and other dairy products can cause obesity, mood imbalance, and increased risk for illness.

Both sides are very passionate about why they eat the way they do. Vegans are proud of the fact that they do not consume any meat, and they do not understand how Paleo followers can consume meat without any guilt. Paleo followers do not understand how vegans can get enough protein and eat a well-rounded diet without adding animal proteins to their diet.

Paleo followers differ in the vegan diet because they do not consume any grains. They believe that soy, wheat, and corn are processed foods in today’s world, and recent research backs up their claims.

Both sides want the same thing from their eating plans: To eat real whole foods in the most natural state. Both teams aspire to be healthy and fit. The fighting between the two sides should cease, and instead find a common ground to use their energy to get people excited about their health and fitness. This is where the real difference is, helping others change their lives through food, exercise, and a healthy attitude towards life.

The real battle should not be between Paleo and vegan style of eating. Most people would agree that these forms of eating require a high level of discipline. The real battle is to get your child to put down the Oreos so they can eat more orange. Or have your child embrace almond milk instead of whole milk.

Paleo, vegan, vegetarian, Atkins, low carb, high protein, or Weight Watchers all have the same goal in mind. All food plans desire for you to eat more healthy, whole foods and less processed foods.
