Did Caitlyn Jenner Really Buy Clothes From Cher?

Caitlyn Jenner actually bought various costumes from Cher. At least that’s what the National Enquirer wants you to believe. Gossip Cop summarized the story from the print edition of the supermarket tabloid.

“According to the National Enquirer, Jenner has deemed Cher her fashion guru, and wants to copy the singer’s look. A so-called ‘source’ tells the tabloid, ‘Caitlyn is obsessed with Cher and her glitzy, over-the-top style.'”

The article adds that another alleged insider says that Caitlyn wants to feel like she actually is Cher, and that means dressing up in the actual sequined gowns the singer used for concerts and other shows. However, Gossip Cop says the story is completely fabricated.

“Caitlyn Jenner did NOT buy some of the clothing that Cher has worn in various concerts over the years, despite a ridiculous tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s not true,” claims the gossip-busting columnist Andrew Shuster, who adds that the National Enquirer once claimed Bruce Jenner wanted to hook up with Cher before he became Caitlyn.

This isn’t the first rumor about Jenner that has spread this week. The print edition of the National Enquirer also told its readers that Caitlyn was getting a mole so she could look more like Cindy Crawford. Gossip Cop summarized this story as well.

“According to the repeatedly discredited National Enquirer, Jenner’s ego is so out of control that she supposedly refers to herself as ‘Cindy’s sister.’ The supermarket tabloid then trots out one of its seemingly fabricated (or pathetically misinformed) sources to say, ‘Caitlyn thinks she’s a dead ringer for Cindy, and she’s certain the rest of the world sees the resemblance, too.'”

The National Enquirer also says that Jenner was “in Heaven” when people started comparing her to Cindy Crawford after wearing a white gown to last year’s ESPY Awards. But Gossip Cop says almost everything about the tabloid’s story is fabricated.

“The publication does note accurately that Crawford tweeted a year ago, ‘Okay, Caitlyn Jenner borrowed my hair for her Vanity Fair show. Now, can I borrow her legs?’ However, the rest of what the tabloid claims is fictional,” claims columnist Michael Lewittes.

One story that isn’t a rumor is the fact that Caitlyn will celebrate the 40th anniversary of her Olympic win on a major magazine cover. USA Today has the news.

“Caitlyn Jenner will mark the 40th anniversary of the Olympic gold medal she won in the decathlon as Bruce Jenner with a cover story in Sports Illustrated. The magazine, on newsstands on June 8, also will release a film, Jenner: 40 Years After Gold, on SI.com on June 6, following Jenner as she returns to various stops along her Olympic journey decades ago.”

USA Today adds that Caitlyn will be shown visiting the University of Oregon campus track, where she qualified for her very first Olympics in 1972. She will also visit San Jose City College, where she trained for the 1976 games. Some of the comments after the article aren’t very supportive of Ms. Jenner.

“Sad, really,” says John Sparrow.

“The cover of Psychology Today makes more sense,” claims Mike Madison.
