Iron Maiden Frontman Bruce Dickenson Lays Into Unruly Fan At Concert, Calling Him A ‘C***’

Iron Maiden, one of heavy metal’s most influential bands, is still alive and kicking. In fact, Iron Maiden recently kicked someone out of a concert for being too unruly towards fellow concertgoers. According to Blabbermouth, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickenson berated an unruly fan during their May 12 concert at the Adelaide Entertainment Center in Adelaide, Australia.

The Adelaide show formed part of Iron Maiden’s Book of Souls world tour. At the end of the 11th song in Iron Maiden’s set, “Fear of The Dark,” Bruce addressed the fan directly and told him he would need to get out of the concert if he did not calm down. The direct address by Bruce to the fan was not without strong language, proving his point across the concert ground that the concertgoer should indeed calm down.

A fan who attended the concert spoke on the incident involving the fan. He started out by saying that he was enjoying the Iron Maiden concert with a friend until another concertgoer pushed in front of them.

“He had a Raiders shirt on and looked to be in his mid-40s. He was certainly drunk or on something, considering he could barely stand up straight.”

He went on to say that he’s no stranger to concerts and that it’s fairly common for someone to push in front, so he and his friend just rolled their eyes and continued enjoying the show.

“Some bald guy in front of him turned around and said something to him that just set him off. This guy with the Raiders shirt went off and started hitting this bald guy. The bald guy pushed him into me and my friend, he went back at it with the bald guy which escalated into a fight.”

At this point, three other Iron Maiden fans tried to restrain the man, and it wasn’t long before Iron Maiden’s frontman Bruce stepped in.

“Bruce stopped the song and said all the things you hear in the video. Eventually, the security got him and kicked the [man] out in which the show carried on.”

Watch the video here, but take caution as it contains strong language. The action begins at about seven minutes into the video.

The tour was in support of Iron Maiden’s latest release The Book of Souls, which was released worldwide on September 4, 2015. The tour kicked off last February 24 in Sunrise, Florida.

Despite how long they’ve been around, Iron Maiden still delivers amazing live performances, hitting all the right notes at all the right places, and a recent show from the band at the Rod Laver Arena last May 9 was a testament to that. According to the Age, more than 90 minutes after setting foot on stage, Bruce Dickenson had “flown the flag” for England, for heavy metal, and for Iron Maiden.

Early into the show, Bruce pumped up the Melbourne audience over Sydney fans. Closer to the end of the show, the Iron Maiden frontman said he was unwell and struggling. He still managed to pull through despite some moments where his operatic howl would let him down. Founding member and bass player Steve Harris prowled the stage in his knee-length shorts and waist-length hair, looking like the same Iron Maiden that delivered its iconic self-titled debut album in 1980 before following up with Killers and The Number of The Beast.

The band, being as flashy as they’ve ever been, used pyrotechnics with bursts of fire erupting from the side and the back of the stage, giving old and new fans reason to pump their fists into the air. An appearance by the mascot of the band, Eddie the Head, from behind drummer Nicko McBain was captured by many Iron Maiden fans on their cell phones. The encore of the band featured Iron Maiden classics from The Number of The Beast and Blood Brothers.
