Giuliana And Bill Rancic Welcome Baby Boy, Edward Duke Rancic

Wonderful news for Giuliana Rancic, who recently won in her fight against breast cancer. She and husband Bill are now new parents.

Last night, Giuliana and Bill welcomed Edward Duke Rancic, born last night via a surrogate at 10:12 pm in Denver, Colorado. Little Edward weighed in at 7 pounds and 4 ounces and measured 20 inches, reports E!Online.

“Bill and I are blessed beyond words to welcome Edward into our lives,” Giuliana told E! News. “Thank you so much to everyone who supported us along the way. We are so in love with the little guy already!”

The labor lasted roughly four hours and went very smoothly, according to the couple. Both Giuliana and Bill were present in the delivery room the entire time and became overwhelmed with emotion the moment that their son arrived. The couple say that they are “beyond elated” expressed some disbelief that their long quest to become parents was finally over.

“He is doing incredibly well,” Giuliana said, adding that everyone involved is now resting comfortably.

The couple mainly splits their time between Los Angeles and Chicago, but Denver holds special importance to them. Giuliana was seeing a doctor in Denver about fertility treatments, who insisted that she have a mammogram. Luckily, Giuliana was diagnosed with breast cancer early on and beat the disease to become a prominent spokeswoman regarding the importance of early detection.

“One of the things we’ve always tried to do is help others with our story,” Bill has said. “Whether it’s with the infertility issues, whether it’s with the breast cancer, we said we’re gonna turn these negatives into positives. And if we can help others by sharing our story, then it’s worth it.”

Bill announced his son’s birth via Twitter as well:

Congratulations from IQ to Giuliana and Bill for their new baby boy!
