‘Little People, Big World’: Jacob Roloff Says He Doesn’t Share His Family’s Religion

Little People, Big World star Jacob Roloff explained why he’s not on the TLC reality show anymore. Apparently, the youngest Roloff’s disappearance from the new season of Little People, Big World has nothing to do with money. According to Jacob Roloff, he just doesn’t share his family’s Christian religion anymore.

A new season of Little People, Big World premiered on TLC last month without Jacob Roloff. Fans of the long-running reality TV series that follows the lives of the Roloff family on their farm in a suburb of Portland, Oregon, were left wondering where Jacob was. Jacob Roloff reportedly chose not to renew his contract with TLC to appear in any of the episodes of Season 10.

Several reasons have been shared recently about why Jacob Roloff would choose to not participate in the newest season of his family’s reality TV show, which has been ongoing since 2006. Jacob Roloff had been a regular on Little People, Big World since he was 9-years-old. But since Jacob is considered an adult now, he has every legal right to decide he doesn’t want to appear on current or upcoming episodes, for whatever reason.

Faithful followers of Little People, Big World are confused and disappointed to see Jacob leave the show, saying he was always a favorite — sweet and adorable, albeit a little accident prone. However, Jacob Roloff wasn’t so sweet or adorable last year when he took to his Twitter account to voice his disapproval against the show, his parents, Matt and Amy, and the TLC network.

According to Starcasm in September, 2015, Jacob Roloff tweeted in August that he felt like he was cheated out of money he earned for appearing on Little People, Big World for all those years. That tweet came in the middle of the ninth season, which Jacob did appear on, and was apparently the second tweet from the then 18-year-old voicing his negative opinions about the show.

Jacob Roloff’s participation in Season 9 of Little People, Big World was reportedly reluctant, and he certainly voiced his frustrations, saying he never liked filming for the show and was thrown into the role as a child for his parents’ ratings. A report by Radar Online, also in September 2015, shared that Jacob had become estranged from his family over his experience as a child on Little People, Big World.

Even though Jacob Roloff was never the main focus of Little People, Big World, he says he was still often thrown into different situations as a child to boost the show’s ratings. Jacob also shared that he just never enjoyed filming. Jacob didn’t appear much on Season 9 but said he appeared plenty on many of the episodes from 2006 until 2010. When Little People, Big World was picked back up for new seasons in 2013, Jacob Roloff’s participation in the show was limited.

During the airing of Season 9 in 2015, Jacob was actually in an ongoing feud with his parents who suffer from dwarfism and are the main focus characters of Little People, Big World. The feud apparently started with Jacob’s tweet on August 29, 2015, when he said he felt like he was cheated out of money from the show that “was his childhood,” which brought some backlash from a few of his Twitter followers who said Jacob shouldn’t expect the show to support him.

“I don’t think you understand. Me getting my accumulated salary since Season 1 isn’t ‘others supporting me.’ It’s mine.”

But, according to a new report by Radar Online on Friday, money disputes isn’t the real reason why Jacob left Little People, Big World. According to the report, the rift between Jacob Roloff the rest of the Roloff clan stems from the fact that he doesn’t share their Christian religion. In fact, Jacob calls himself an agnostic — he doesn’t believe nor disbelieve in God.

Agnosticism is very contrary to his family’s strict Christian faith. Both Jacob’s sister, 23-year-old Molly Roloff, as well as Jacob’s sister-in-law, 24-year-old Audrey Roloff, have recently been in the news for voicing their opinions about gay marriage, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. Molly and Audrey’s stance against same-sex marriage stems from their belief in Christianity, a religion that all Roloff family members follow, except Jacob, apparently.

“I defended myself ‘being a Christian’ until I realized I’ve never done anything to call myself one besides be born into a Christian family.”

Where is Jacob Roloff now that he’s abandoned both Little People, Big World, as well as his newly-divorced parents’ world? According to 2Paragraphs on May 9, Jacob has since reconciled with his family but moved off the Roloff family farm and is living on his own in Arcata, California, with girlfriend Izzy and their dog, Luna.
