Octavia Rogers: Arizona Mom Allegedly Stabs Three Sons Then Turns Knife On Herself, Police Say

Arizona mom Octavia Rogers allegedly stabbed her three sons to death before turning the knife on herself, Phoenix police say. Rogers, 29, reportedly tried to kill her sons and herself because she thought she was pregnant again.

Octavia Rogers just gave birth to a 2-month-old son before the alleged murder-suicide attempt. According to a Daily Mail report, the Arizona mom partially dismembered sons.

Jaikare Rahaman, 8, Jeremiah Adams, 5, and newborn, Avery Robinson, were all found dead at the gruesome crime scene.

Octavia Rogers is reportedly in critical condition at an area hospital but is expected to survive. Before police officers arrived at the scene, the Phoenix mom allegedly stabbed herself in the abdomen and neck.

Rogers has been accused of mortally stabbing her three sons before stuffing their partially dismembered little bodies in the closet.

Her mother, Tanella McCoy, identified the victims at the scene. The shocked grandmother deemed Octavia Rogers a “good mother” and said she was unaware of any problems her daughter was having with her sons, according to a report by the Arizona Republic.

“I don’t know what to feel right now. I don’t know where to go, I don’t know where to turn,” McCoy said. “My daughter knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I would take her kids because there were times she would talk to me about leaving for the summer.”

The grandmother also said Avery was a “very good baby” and added that Jaikare was a “book scholar” who had a bright future ahead of him. McCoy said Jeremiah was “her muscleman.”

Tanella McCoy owns the home where Octavia Rogers and her three sons were found. When McCoy’s adult son got home from work around 2 a.m., he said he chatted in the garage with Octavia. According to the brother, Octavia was talking about religion and said she “found the answer.”

After the brother and sister talked in the Phoenix garage, he said she locked him out of the house. He eventually broke in through a bathroom window and found Octavia inside with multiple stab wounds. He then called 911 and grabbed towels to attempt to stop the bleeding. Rogers was allegedly determined to commit suicide and tried to drown herself in the tub when her brother rushed to get more towels.

When first responders arrived and tried to save her life, Octavia reportedly told them her children were “with someone else” and not inside the home.

Police officers found two of Rogers’ sons in the closet and temporarily exited the home. After speaking with relatives and learning Octavia also had an infant son, they went back in the home and searched until they found his body inside a suitcase in the closet.

During a press conference about the triple murder-suicide, police officials said they had no evidence indicating Octavia Rogers was suffering from any type of mental illness. Her family told homicide investigators they have no idea “what set this off.”

Rogers’ and her children lived with her brother and mother. None of the children’s fathers are reportedly “in the picture.” The three boys were allegedly murdered by their mother during the seven hours after the grandmother left for work and their uncle returned home from work on Thursday.

If Octavia Rogers survives the self-inflicted stab wounds, she will be charged with a triple homicide.
