Chris Brown Gay Relationship Controversy: Brown’s Furious, Offensive Retaliation

A recent Chris Brown Instagram photo has led some to speculate (in varying degrees of political correctness) that Brown is gay, and Chris’s reaction — along with the reactions of several Chris Brown supporters — is unbelievable.

On Thursday, Chris Brown uploaded to Instagram a photo of himself with his arm around Olivier Rousteing, a French fashion designer, and a huge portion of the internet quickly started to go nuts when they inferred from the photo that the two men must be in a homosexual relationship.

Although neither of the two men are gay and Chris Brown has made it very clear in the past he does not get along with the LGBTQ community, the fact that the pair looked so chummy and were so near to each other in the photo seems to have been proof enough for many to verify Brown’s sexual orientation.

“F**king f**gy,” wrote one of many accusatory, and extremely offensive, commenters.

There were also a good amount of comments telling Chris to wave the haters off and saying that people were reading way too much into the photo.

Despite the majority of the comments being in opposition to the hateful and homophobic ones, however, Brown himself felt the need to throw his two cents in. And, as Chris Brown fans will tell you is typical of the “Run It” rapper, he did not go about it in a manner that was cool and collected.

“The crazy thing is that y’all used to call me homophobic… Now y’all calling me gay???? RESPECT IS RESPECT. WHO STILL HATES PEOPLE FOR THEIR DIFFERENCES OR PREFERENCES??? Grow up. People are abundantly simple-minded.”

Emojis of a trophy and a pair of praying hands were added after the text to punctuate Chris’ point.

Chris Brown’s rapper friend, The Game, also decided to defend his buddy with an even angrier rant.

“Lol.. People kill me homie!!! Because two successful people take a quick photo opp together & one of them is gay/or not that means the other person is gay too!!! This guy is the head of BALMAIN… Most of you n***** ain’t even employee of the month at wing stop, uncomfortable in your own skin using HATE to hide behind your own insecurities… & everybody know this n**** Chris ain’t gay & all you n***** listen to his music while yo broke ass ridin’ shotgun in yo girl car so [cut] the bulls**t & let people live!”

Wow, Mr. Game, tell us how you really feel.

Hollywood Life, the first source to report the incident, applauds Chris Brown and The Game for standing up so strongly against homophobia, although it is debatable whether Brown’s reaction was an actual stance against homophobia or an act meant purely to preserve his own reputation as a straight male.

Either way, Brown apparently did not feel the same way as Hollywood life, as evidenced by the fact that he deleted the post shortly after it went viral.

With the Instagram drama now in the rearview, Chris Brown is free to devote all his attention to the launch of “Nike Lab X Olivier Rousteing,” which WWD reports is a line of athletic wear based on the lifestyles of the players competing in 2016’s Euro soccer championship. Brown is working with Lily Allen in addition to Rousteing to launch the clothing line, and the initial reveal was held in Paris on Wednesday.

Chris Brown is a very active social media user and he is almost constantly uploading photo documentation of his experience at the launch to his Instagram. It looks like Chris is having a great time, but no photos point to him being in any kind of a romantic relationship with Rousteing.
