Caitlyn Jenner Vanity Fair Reveal A Year Later: ‘Best Year Of My Life’

It has been a year since Caitlyn Jenner made her debut on the cover of Vanity Fair.

The I Am Cait star took to Instagram to celebrate the one-year anniversary of her official introduction to the world. Although she captioned the photo with a very short and expressive caption, the video clip shows a very enthusiastic and happy Caitlyn as she briefly talks about the past year.

“Can’t believe it’s been one year since @Vanity Fair cover. So happy, best year of my life.”

One year ago, the world said goodbye to Bruce Jenner and hello to Caitlyn Jenner, thanks to the Vanity Fair cover that introduced her. A lot has happened to Jenner since the now-famous Annie Leibovitz cover, and she has documented the past year not only on social media but with her own reality TV show, as well.

Not long after the cover hit the Internet, Jenner became part of social media as Caitlyn sending out her first tweet.

“I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.”

Immediately after Caitlyn Jenner was introduced on the cover of Vanity Fair, she was thrust into the spotlight. Yes, as Bruce, she was in the spotlight, too, but nothing like she has endured over the past year. From the controversy surrounding her receiving the Arthur Ashe Courage award, to being named one of Glamour’s women of the year in 2015, to the drama that her transition caused among her famous family, Jenner has become a media magnet.

Along with becoming a huge presence and advocate for the transgender community, Jenner came to terms with living an authentic life, much of which has been documented on her E! reality show. Fans witnessed as Caitlyn legally changed her name to Caitlyn Marie Jenner. She was also granted the OK by a California judge to legally change her gender, as well.

Her Vanity Fair cover was just the beginning for Caitlyn Jenner. The woman who was once a shadow of the Kardashian family is certainly not in the shadows anymore. She has earned a number of honors over the past year, including being named Barbara Walters’ Most Influential Person of 2015. Her reality show on E! received a GlAAD award, as well, this past year.

The list of how life has changed for Jenner since her big reveal could go on and on. In fact, it looks like soon everyone will know exactly how life is for Jenner as a woman. Caitlyn is currently working on a memoir about her transition into womanhood, and it will reportedly be very open and honest.

Whether you like her or not, there is no denying that Caitlyn is here to stay. She has a lot to say and is not afraid to let people hear it. As for whether or not Jenner will get to continue expressing herself on her reality TV show remains to be seen. The fate of I Am Cait is still up in the air. The show did not have great ratings for Season 2, but that doesn’t mean E! is going to give up on it yet. Considering the longstanding relationship between the network and Jenner, it seems unlikely it will get canceled.

It is hard to believe it has only been a year since Vanity Fair scored the big Caitlyn Jenner reveal. A lot has gone down with her in the past year, making it seem like the reveal was a lot longer than a year. What are your thoughts on the big anniversary of Vanity Fair and Jenner?
