Who Is Blac Chyna, And Exactly What Does She Do?

If you are over 35, you are most likely familiar with the Kardashians, but might be confused with the new players on the outside of the family who get mentioned. So, who is this Blac Chyna, where did she come from, and why would she want to date Rob Kardashian, who most recently was a recluse, battling weight and mommy issues? And what kind of name is Blac Chyna?

According to the Inquisitr, Rob Kardashian is allegedly in a relationship with Blac Chyna, but some think it is more of a business relationship for Keeping Up With the Kardashians ratings. On the heels of the Lamar Odom overdose, Rob Kardashian returning to the family, coming out of hiding, and beginning to lose some of the more than one hundred pounds he has gained in the last year sounds like the new story line. Rob Kardashian has been at odds with his mother, who has been trying to control him, so putting a questionable woman with Rob Kardashian makes the plot line juicier.

Refinery29 is answering the question for older folks — just who is Blac Chyna, and what does she do? Her name is everywhere, but like with the Kardashians, it is hard for much of the general public to figure out exactly why she is famous, or more likely notorious.

First, her name isn’t really Blac Chyna (no, really?), but rather Angela Renee White, from Washington, D.C. Blac Chyna is her “entertainment name,” which seems to be code for stripper. Her mother, Shalana Jones-Hunter, also has an “entertainment name,” which is Tokyo Toni. In 2010, Blac Chyna started her career as a bikini model and stripper at nightclubs and men’s clubs. She was featured for her dancing skills in Dimepiece and Black Men magazines.

Blac Chyna was a body double for Nicki Minaj in a video, and started surrounding herself with rappers while dancing full time at the King of Diamonds. Blac Chyna met her future baby daddy, Tyga, working as a dancer on the set of the Tyga song “Rack City.” Blac Chyna had a baby together, King Cairo Stevenson, and broke up soon after.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Blac Chyna’s professional ambition seems to be to get very famous, and her mother, Tokyo Toni, says that she is almost there. Tokyo Toni is claiming that Blac Chyna, the former stripper who has been dating Rob Kardashian for less than six months, is now pregnant and engaged, and “can’t wait to be Mrs. Kardashian.”

Rob Kardashian, who professionally considers himself a sock designer, plans to marry Blac Chyna in a “royal wedding” as soon as possible. Tokyo Toni claims that she prefers her soon-to-be Kardashian son-in-law to Tyga, who is the father of her grandson, King Cairo.

“I know Chyna is going to be super-famous when she’s married. She’s so happy.”

Tokyo Toni says that Blac Chyna is loving all of the attention from Rob Kardashian, and the lavish gifts. She says she was there at the time that Kardashian popped the question.

“When Rob got down on one knee in front of me and several other people, my eyes nearly popped out of my head and the tears started to come. Chyna cried too.”

Right now, Tokyo Toni has a GoFundMe site to raise money to produce a documentary on her life story, and sources say that she is trying to cash in on Blac Chyna’s newfound celebrity. At this time, she has raised $420.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Blac Chyna is finally cashing in, and has locked down a spin-off series on E! with Rob Kardashian. The network has ordered a six episode series about the birth of Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian’s first child, and it is tentatively called Rob & Chyna.

E! is treating the relationship of Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian as if it is the love story of the decade, and E! executives are gushing.

“Very few love stories have created as much pop culture buzz as Rob and Chyna’s, and we are thrilled to see Rob in such a happy place. We are excited to share the next chapter in their relationship.”

More likely excited to cash in on the next chapter, but sure, sounds good.
