Hillary Clinton: Donald Trump a ‘Fraud’ Attempting To ‘Scam America’ Over University Documents

Hillary Clinton has used revelations about Trump University as proof to out the Republican front runner, Donald Trump as a “fraud” out to “scam America.”

Speaking to a crowd of supporters at Newark campus of Rutgers University, Clinton unloads on Trump:

“His own employees testified that Trump U — you can’t make this up — that Trump U was a fraudulent scheme where Donald Trump enriched himself at the expense of hard working people,” Mrs. Clinton said.

“Trump and his employees took advantage of vulnerable Americans encouraging them to max out their credit cards, empty their retirement savings, destroy their financial futures, all while making promises they knew were false from the beginning,” she said. “This is just more evidence that Donald Trump himself is a fraud. He is trying to scam America the way he scammed all those people at Trump University.”

Mrs. Clinton is referring to the newly released testimony by former employees who described the real estate school as “a facade, a total lie” and a “fraudulent scheme” that “preyed upon the elderly and uneducated to separate them from their money,” according to The Guardian.

The testimony of three former employees of Trump University portrayed the business as a scam that used deceptive marketing tactics to lure people to enroll in free classes in order to eventually sell courses worth up to $34,995. Customers were also encouraged to purchase courses they could not afford by paying with borrowed money – with the idea they would make the money back with knowledge gained from the course, according to the report.

Donald Trump has fought to keep the documents sealed and attacked the judge on social media, accusing him of bias. Hillary Clinton also took to social media to warn people that the details of Trump University may make people feel sickened.

Trump goes on to claim that he could have settled the case, but for reasons unknown, Trump decided not to. Donald Trump referred to the U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who was born in Indiana, as “Mexican” and a “hater of Donald Trump.”

Trump insist that his University course was well-received and that he receives letters from satisfied students.

Clinton also attacks Trump on refusing to release his tax returns, his comments on foreign policy and the Great Recession. The former Secretary of State argues that Trump’s past is a sign of his future conduct: “It’s important that we recognize what he has done, because that’s usually a pretty good indicator of what he will do,” said Mrs. Clinton to the crowd.

Clinton also touched on Trump’s veteran controversy as further proof that he cannot be trusted. The Washington Post reported that Trump did not raise $6 million, and his campaign claim that he has made a $1 million contribution is also false.

Trump then responded on social media by accusing the media of bias:

Several recent polls found that Clinton and Trump are close in votes for the prospective general election battle. Clinton’s campaign has attributed the closeness in polls to the fact that Clinton is still running a democratic race with Bernie Sanders who shows no signs of giving up.

There is no telling whom Bernie Sanders supporters will vote for if he fails to get the nomination for the Democratic party.

Clinton is confident that she will clinch the Democratic nomination in June, when New Jersey and California vote, believing her lead in both delegates and votes will push Sanders out of the race.

Trump’s inexperience and controversial comments will remain a focus of the Clinton campaign to discredit Trump’s race to the White House. Donald Trump has yet another controversy to fend off, but nothing has seemed to stop him or slow him down as he gets ready for the general election.
