New York, NY (AHN) – LaGuardia Airport’s main terminal has been reopened and passengers are allowed back inside after they were evacuated earlier Saturday morning, officials said.

The authorities have arrested the man who instigated the evacuation of the airport as well as the flights by scaring people with a fake bomb in his bag.

Port Authority spokesman John Kelly told reporters that the man was just “acting crazy”, but no other details were released.

The reports said that the man was trying to board United Flight 667 to Oakland, California, with a stopover at Chicago.

He was stopped by a cop after he spotted wires and fuse sticking out of the suspect’s bag during a security screening.

The NYPD Bomb Squad later found a bunch of batteries taped together with wires sticking out to make it appear like dynamite.

The incoming and outgoing flights, which were grounded indefinitely at 6 a.m. EDT, reportedly resumed three hours after the incident.
